| | What Is 153? | 153 is a servant ministry to the Church, including those in house churches, Internet ministries, and creative ministries.
153 does not direct these ministries, but serves as a support to them during their planting and development. As such, 153 is virtually unseen as it serves these ministries.
| | | 153 Is A Servant of the Church at Large | 153 is committed to the manifested oneness of the Body of Christ at large, and not just certain "factions" of it. In pursuit of this, 153 works closely and actively with many institutional churches and ministries.
We believe that God has spoken that the people of His Spirit will one day move as one, as a school of fish or a flock of birds.
| | | Terminology at 153 | | Although we use the term "house churches" at this site, it is used primarily for the purpose of clarity. The house churches that 153 serves do model the practices of the Church in Acts and beyond, but they don't, is some other ways, resemble what are sometimes called "house churches" today.
Typically, members of these house churches do not feel either "united" or "allegiant" to one house church or another, but rather they feel "united" and "allegiant" to Christ and each other.
Furthermore, they gather in houses, parks, malls, camping grounds, local restaurants - anywhere - as led by the Holy Spirit.
