Front Yard Theme Parks
Front Yard Theme Parks are held in the large front yards of local believers or in local parks in the Miami Valley.
Local churches members and other volunteers work together to set up and operate a miniature theme park complete with kids' games, puppet shows, and live entertainment shows by local church members and volunteers.
Usually, flyers are passed out door-to-door in the neighborhoods where the Theme Park is going to held. No mention is made either verbally or within the text of the flyers identifying the Theme Park as a "church outreach," which it is not.
What Front Yard Theme Parks are is a group of friends coming together to give to the kids and parents in their neighborhood, giving to others because they themselves have received so much from Christ Jesus.
Front Yard Theme Parks usually last 1.5 to 2 hours and during this time free food and beverages (usually popcorn, hotdogs, and fruit punch / water) are served to attendees.
Near the end of the Theme Park, the games are halted and the children are gathered together to sit in front of the entertainment area. During this time, a unique and exciting presentation of the Gospel is shared with the kids (and, in turn with their parents who are casually standing by), and many kids and their parents give their lives to Christ during these presentations.
At the end of this presentation, tickets are passed out to every child and free prizes which have been donated by church members and local ministries and businesses are passed out to the kids. Each kid receives a prize.
Much like Free-For-All Yard Sales, the result of these forward expressions of love called Front Yard Theme Parks are a potent evangelistic opportunity to neighborhoods surrounding the house churches and a bond with the people that live there that is deep and lasting.
