6th: Capt R.C. Bingham, 14 Bomb Disposal Company. Killed by a Butterfly bomb, Epson Downs, Surrey. After placing a charge next to the device he retreated to the safety of a armoured car. When the charge detonated, either a piece of shrapnel entered the observation slit or the whole device landed in the car killing Capt Bingham.

In Tunisia, many hand grenades and mines had been recovered. This were transported by two three ton lorry's, to a safe place for disposal. The bomb load exploded, killing all bar Les Stokes, who had gone to the cab to get a hat.

14th: Capt Frank V. Carlile, of 12 Bomb Disposal Company. Believed to have been killed at Horsham HQ, by fuze exploding, as he inspected a collection of mines.

15th: Dvr F.C. Richardson, of 7 Bomb Disposal Section.

20th: Spr R.H. Kirk, of 159 Bomb Disposal Company. Medjez-El- Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.

26th: Lt William G. Thomas. Killed by a Butterfly Bomb , whilst clearing areas of Hull and Grimsby. The device was being disposed of by a slab of gun cotton. The device was thrown into the air, landed on the Drivers steel helmet, fell onto a L/Cpl and onto L/Sgt Langridge's backside and came to rest on Thomas's feet, where it exploded, taking of both feet. He died two days later of gas gangrene.
