SQUADRON NEWS.

24th July 2003.

The Squadron is due to deploy, (early Sept to late Oct), to Canada on BATUS for the culmination of our training year before moving onto the high readiness year in November.

We have just returned from Spain where 85 members of the Squadron took part in an adventour training exercise Bull Run!!! In Spain we carried out a number of activities including, canoeing, rock climbing, white water rafting, sailing and cycling but the undoubted highlight was the San Fermin festival in Pamplona which we visited complete with the bull run in the morning.

Before Spain we were on exercise for a month on Salisbury Plain as part of ou training year. Prior to this we were fire fighting in West Yorkshire, during the firemans strike.

To look forward we are on our high readiness year and could potentially deploy anywhere in the world, however we are pencilled in to go to Iraq in April/May 2004.
