From e mail to Pete Markham. I visited your site the other day and was impressed with the growing number of ex 3 Sqn wallahs. I was one myself when iserved with that unit from '59 to '65 (Spr to Cpl). They were great days though i didn't think so at the time, especially during the time i served with the squadron in Chiseldon Camp, near Swindon. Life became more tolerable when we moved in 1960/61 to Mooltan Barracks in Tidworth.

Thankyou for accepting me into your group. I saw an entry from Chic Farmer and found we had served in the same places. I was with 40 Commando Royal Marines in Libya and 45 Commando Royal Marines in Aden 1963.We did not drive up to Dalha though we walked full kit. I did try to join another group called Re-Starring Malta 2003 as i had served in Malta with 40 Commando and 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines 1956-1960,but they denied my application.

Am I really that old? Did 6 years (1978-1984 in support troop visited Kenya 1981 Cyprus x 2 Ireland (Castle Dillon) Falklands 1982.. In the processof moving house so when I get settled into new one I will dig out some photo's and post them.
