Welcome to the 3rd Field Artillery Observation Battalion historical group!
I am not a family member of any former member of the Battalion, nor do I have any rosters, (at this time), to verify anyones membership of any of the batteries during World War II.
What I do have is a photo album full of photographs taken during maneuvers at Fort Bragg in September and October, 1941. Most of the photographs are of the battalion meteorological survey section. There also some photos of the original owner during basic training.
My hope is that these photos will interest others in the 3rd FAOB. If anyone has any documents or photos they would like to upload to the sight that are directly related to the 3rd FAOB, please do so.
Be advised, my photos are watermarked to discourage duplication and unauthorized distribution. Some photos are annotated and those annotations will be transcribed online as needed. Anyone recogizing someone and needing a clear copy of the photo may request one.
