Membership of the Group
In order to provide some protection for walk leaders and organisers, we have taken out a liability insurance contract and as a result we have had to formalise the group a little.
To join the group, you need to click on the JOIN NOW button top left and this will then get acknowledged by MSN. We will then send you an application form by email, which needs to be completed and sent to
Steve Maycock at: 13 Cross St , Windermere, Cumbria, LA23 1AE.
We have also introduced a nominal membership fee of £10 per person or £15 per family, which covers the period up to 31 October 2009. Cheques should be payable to "40s Walkers North". As you can see we're not looking to make a profit out of this, simply cover the costs. From your £10 we will pay for the Group Liability Insurance, Group YHA Membership and also the affiliation to the Ramblers.
Unfortunately, we will now have to be pretty strict on the membership and only allow people on the walks who have completed the application form AND paid their membership fee. You will not be given full access to the website, nor allowed on a walk, until you become a "paid up member".
Please note that the insurance policy is not an Accident or Sickness Policy or Permanent Health Insurance Policy. Members are strongly advised to have their own cover in place in case of personal injury, or to replace lost income in the event of being unable to work.
All information will be treated strictly as private & confidential. It will be used purely by the co-ordinators in connection with administration and membership issues and will not be divulged to 3rd parties.
