The George Seeberg Collection
Capt George Seeberg served in the 44th FS from 1943 on Guadalcanal to 1945 in the Phillipines. He was the only member of the squadron to have color film. The images here are displayed through his generosity.

This selection of photo was taken by a Marine Corps photographer from a B-24. The shark nosed aircraft were taken over from the 68th FS which the 44th releived on Guadacanal in Jan. 1943.

The pilots assigned to the 44th were credited with over 170 Japanese aircraft shot down in aerial combat during WWII. These men were without a doubt, part of the "Greatest Generation".
