ON GUARD AND FINALLY R & R.
Sergeant sat on sand bags clutching Sten mk2, looking very stern bieng as how no one else is on guard and hes desperate for a decent cup of tea. Also found out he was to be made an R.S.M. which means re-sewing insignia on his uniform. It may look a mess display wise but its an organised mess. There is a war on after all. You can just make out Nelson asleep by the sergeants right arm. Also note the lads from the M.V.T. sat oblivious to the photo bieng taken behind the sergeant.
Corporal outside sand bags with No4 Lee Enfield. Note small pack bag with enamel mug attached to one of the straps. Nelson has gone off hunting Jerry mice.
At the end of a long hard day its nice to have some R & R. As you can see the infantry Sergeant, although not amused, is still in his uniform as is the Corporal of paras. Unfortunatly the corporal is takeing the photo so you cant see him. And yes the Sergeant is very attached to his mug, it goes where he goes, it makes for a handy weapon to hit people with if they get on his goat!
