Well here's a bit about me and why i do British living history. Well it all started when i was in infants school and used to go down to my nan and gramps place for my dinners. There would allways seem to be an old British war film on iether BBC2 or Channel 4. Films like 'Ice cold in Alex', 'Dunkirk' or 'Colditz' etc. My fascination grew from that and talking to my gramps and going to museums with him. As i grew older it was allways a subject that i was interested in. The thing that really got to me was a bloody mindedness that despite our backs bieng to the wall we would win, eventually. If it wasn't for Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, free Poles, Dutch and every other nation that rallied to our aid we would have been well and truly buggerd. Now im 30 and having watched the film 'A bridge too far' i decided to do an infantry unit from operation 'Market Garden' hence the choice of the 5th D.C.L.I. My Favourite weapon of the war has to be the No4 Lee Enfield rifle which is basically an idiot proof weapon, which suits me to a T. It's also bloody lovely to shoot unless it slips a bit then you tend to wind up with a nasty bruise.

Well here's a bit about me and why i do Living history. Well when i was 9 i watched my first war film a 'A bridge too far' and have been hooked ever since. I love everything and just about every nations equipment but i mostly concentrate on the para side of things, although i will be doing the U.S. paras shortly. I do British but im branching out into American, mostly because im a wimp and cant hack it in the british wool serge unlike the R.S.M. who's insane and wears his blouse done up even when its boiling hot! My ambition is to be able to do a parachute jump in full kit so i can officially wear my para jump wings. The Sergeant Major keeps suggesting i should do it with out a parachute so he can see how much of a dent in the ground i make when i hit it! I think i piss him off when i spend to much time and attention chatting up every woman i can see and not enough time keeping an eye on the display's incase something gets knicked. My favourite weapon is my blank firing Sten and my blank firing Colt.
