First thing that comes to mind for 80's wear is what you see above, YEP, the legwarmers. I knitted a pair of those once. LOL There were so many styles throughout the 80's and so many different clothes makers. Jordache and Sasson jeans, Balloon shoes, L.A. Gear and O.P. (Ocean Pacific). Some of us wore Izod (cute little alligators). We had our pant legs in a roll (folded over once and then rolled up twice), detective style hats, acid or stone washed jeans, fluoresent colors and shirts with one large letter like Y not and X rated. Some of the girls wore two different earrings in each ear and many were getting more than one pair of piercings on the ears as well were the guys. My dad still doesn't understand guys with earrings. We were the age of those hundreds of bangle bracelets on the arm and friendship pins we used to put on our shoes. We had the slave bracelets also (those were a bracelet that had a chain hooked to a ring). We wore SUPER tight jeans, parachute pants, laced socks with high heels, Bugle Boy (wasn't Millers Outpost THE place to shop?), checkered clothes AND Vans shoes. Vans shoes were COOL, you used to be able to special order designs. I still have my pair, tiny dinosaurs on skateboards. :) We wore our collars up, wore shirts with buttons and long tails, WIDE belts and skinny ties. Guys wore the baseball caps turned up sometimes with writting on the bill or painters caps. Some of us wore denim jackets with band patches and pins, ear cuffs, overalls and polka dots. Oakley and Ray-Ban sunglasses, still cool and STILL expensive. LOL We had Swatch and Fossil watches and the must have Swatch guard so you wouldn't mess up your watch face of course. Some guys wore Creepers (shoes) muscle shirts, shirts with torn sleeves and fancy hats. There was even those cool hypercolor shirts that changed color with your body heat. Girls wore the spandex pants which I remember our school banned. There were many styles and fashions, most of which I would like to believe came from what we saw on MTV. What did you wear and remember about the 80's clothes? Come over to the style message board and share what you wore.
