"Yeah...I'm a thrill seeker, but Crikey, education's the most important thing. I have no fear of loosing my life. Mate...if I have to save a crocodile or a koala or a kangaroo or a snake? Mate...I WILL save it!"

Steve Irwin - Adventurer & Preservationist

1962 - 2006

"..You Lil' Beauty! "

Steve Irwin Died As He Lived...exploring, preserving & loving life, learning and understanding the nature of this planet and all creatures upon it, including us humans. He lived his life to the fullest.

He was in fact A True Earth Soul, A Guardian and by this I mean he took care of Mother Earth and her Creatures with pure, genuine respect. His continual effort to preserve and protect was second to none other.

He treasured his life and it's THEME (purpose) and every single moment he spent walking this planet was spent teaching, assisting and encouraging us all to imitate and assist this mission.

He leaves behind his soulmate Terry and their two little souls, Bindy & Bob. My heart and my prayers go out to them at this time...for their loss, as is the world's, is a deep loss in many ways.

"Cross Over In Purest Love and Peace Steve...Thank You...You Are Now The Head Game Keeper of The Universe...Fly Free Dear Man...Fly Free"

His Story...

Steve was born February 22 1962 in the southern city of Melbourne, to a plumber father and a nurse mother who decided a few years later to chase a shared dream of becoming involved in Animal Preservation.

They moved to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and opened a Reptile & Wildlife Preserve at Beerwah in 1970. Steve was in his element!

He was given a 3.5 metre (12 foot) Scrub Python for his sixth birthday and regularly went on 'capturing' excursions with his father in the bushland around the park.

He became obsessed with Crocodiles and in his 20's worked for the Queensland Government as a Croc Trapper.

Steve's father, Bob, said his son had an 'Innate Affinity' with animals from an early age, a sense Steve later described as 'A GIFT'. Steve said he learnt about wildlife working with his parents rather than in school.

In 1999, Steve took over the park, Australia Zoo, when his parents retired and he began building a reputation as a bit of a showman during daily crocodile feeding shows. The crowds loved him.

He then met and married Terri Raines of Eugine Oregon, who visited the park as a tourist that year. (They actually invited a television crew to join them on their camping honeymoon on Australia's far Northern tip.) And the resulting show became the first "Crocodile Hunter" and was picked up by Discovery Channel and then became an international hit.

Steve was now as famous (and just as loved) in the United States as he was at home in Australia, where he typified a knockabout, rascally character we Australian's call a 'Larrikin'.

Later Steve starred in his own movie 'The Crocodile Hunter - Collision Course' in 2002. He also appeared in the Eddie Murphy movie, Dr Doolittle2.

Conservationists around the world said all the world would feel the loss of Steve Irwin, who turned a childhood love of snakes and lizards, and the knowledge learned at his parents side into a message of Wildlife Preservation that reached a television audience that reportedly exeeded 200+ Million.
