Beyonce is the youngest one in 'Destiny's Child'. She started singing when she was 4 years old, and by the time she first performed on stage in first grade, she knew singing was for her beyonce says " as soon as i was up there i knew it was for me, i loved it ".
When she was 9 years old, she joined a girl group called "Girls Tyme", that also included a former DC member LaTavia. A couple years later "Girls Tyme" had only four members (originally 7). They signed up for a show called "Star Search", but they lost. Soon after that "Girls Tyme" broke up and Beyonce and LaTavia decided to start their own group.In girls tyme they actually had member whos job it was, was to rap and dance.
Beyonce's father, Mathew, helped them with the auditioning. In result, LeToya and Kelly were accepted. From then, they went by various names like "Something Fresh", "Cliche" and "The Dolls". They got singed with Elektra Records but soon got dropped. A few years later, when Beyonce was 14 years old, they got signed to Columbia Records. They soon became "Destiny's Child" - Beyonce's mother, Tina, spotted those two words while reading the Bible.
Beyonce has played a major part in producing and writing songs for Destiny's Child (she produced most of the songs on the "Survivor" album). And after almost 10 years and more than 33 million records sold worldwide, she still seems to be the simple girl next door.
