Multi-Opponent Fighting
Bear with me as I construct these pages.
I will try to have all links functional within a couple of weeks.
In general I carry a very hesitant state of mind about teaching how to fight multi opponents. My feeling on this is that its unrealistic for even the most highly trained martial artist to expect to win a confrontation with three or more attackers. However, I'm often asked how effective an eclectic grappling/striking system would be against more than one adversary and almost always hear about how you'll get your head kicked off if it goes to the ground. With near certainty, in my mind anyways, if you fight more than one person at some point you are going to find yourself on the ground and its at that crucial point in the struggle that you must possess some grappling based skills. At least if you don't want to get your head kicked off. The following links aren't meant as much for technique teaching as they are for thought provocation. What follows, I hope, will demonstrate more clearly my argument of this subject and solidify the idea of how a grappler can do well in these encounters if his techniques are utilized with efficiency and in conjunction with a good awareness of his environment and what his opponents are doing. I hope you enjoy.
