A Small Code of Conduct for Members
(or, "A Heads-Up for Trolls")
Welcome aboard to our new group! Why a code of conduct, you ask? Well, as this is board is about a controversial subject that the adoption industry and many of its customers hate (they love to adopt babies but woe-betide the natural mother who wants a relationship with her stolen child!), there will be a few simple rules here because we as moderators don't want to have to moderate-and-approve every message before it is posted.
So, if you join this board, these are the rules that we all agree to play by.
1. Play nice. No flaming individual members.
2. Please don't use industry terminology such as "birth-mother," "birthchild," etc. Please see the Language Guidelines for more info. See also Diane Turski's article "Why Birthmother Means Breeder" at http://www.exiledmothers.com/adoption_facts/Why_Birthmother_Means_Breeder.html.
3. This is a blatently anti-adoption-separation, pro-natural-family board. If you are an industry customer who has adopted a minor or infant or want to, this is NOT the place for you. We here are all victims of an industry which dismembered our families to provide babies for its customers - we aren't about to support that industry. If you want a pro-adoption board, go to the many industry-run boards out there which ban all antiadoption messages.
4. Pro-family-dismemberment (i.e. "pro-adoption") trolls will be banned. This is NOT the place to debate the pros and cons of dismembering natural families. If you post a message for the sake of upsetting people arguing that infant adoption is wonderful, your message will be deleted and your membership will be terminated by one of the managers.
5. Please report all trolls to the managers via the link on the "Member Tools" page. What is a troll? Someone who posts a message because they get their sadistic jollies from upsetting people.
