Angel Families Giving Thanks

We the families of Angel Babies want to say thank you
and show our appreciation to all the very special people
who have given of themselves to help bless our families
during a time of such tremendous pain in the loss
of our precious angels...

The family of Mason Alexander Shutts will always hold in grateful remembrance your thoughtful expressions of sympathy.

Afghans for Angels,

We will always hold the beautiful blanket you made for our precious angel, Mason, close to us.  What a comfort it was to be given a special gift that night when we lost him.  Your group has a wonderful purpose, and we appreciate your thoughtfulness so much.

Don and Beth Shutts

Your Expression of sympathy brought us comfort.  Please accept our heartfelt thanks.

Dear Afghans for Angels,
Please accept the enclosed supplies for Afghans For Angels in memory of our daughter, Madison Leigh Holland.  As I mentioned already, she was born still on January 31, 2002 at Sentara Norfolk General.  In the midst of our very tragic loss, the afghan that your ministry made for our angel has brought us so much comfort.  Your ministry has a most wonderful purpose.  It is our hope that in donating these supplies, Madison will help us to assist you in bringing comfort to other families who have suffered a loss such as ours.  May God Bless you and your ministry always!

Fran and Tommy Holland

Dear Mrs. Stickle and the members of Afghans For Angels,

I am writing this letter to say thank you for the wonderful work you do.  Last November I had the great misfortune of having to deliver my third child, a boy, at 17 weeks gestation.  I was amazed when they brought my baby to me dressed in a beautiful tiny white garment and wrapped in yet another beautiful afghan.  It brought such dignity to him and helped us view him as the child that he was, a good memory to take with us at a time of such pain and despair.

About three months later I read an article in Parent magazine about your organization.  I cried anew when I realized the keepsakes I brought home were from your organization.  The two boys I have did not get to see their brother but the clothing and blanket provided them with something tangible.

I would like to do something constructive with my grief so please accept this donation to your organization.

Your gifts and talents have helped our family and we would like to help you continue your good work.

Thank you again and God Bless.
Sincerely,
Tina and Bob Dowdy

Dear Sir/Madam:

Recently you extended a helping hand of love and concern to Mr. and Mrs. James Burns and their daughter Julia Rae.  When Julia was delivered prematurely you were there with items to ensure her comfort and safety.  These items and your acts of kindness were especially comforting during Julia's struggle for life and subsequently during the Burns' time of loss.

Your efforts are greatly appreciated by the Burns' friends and coworkers at the Atlantic Division, Naval Facilities Command Codes CI1 and CI2.

Enclosed is a check in memory of Julia Rae Burns.  Our hope is you can use this token to assist in providing this same love and concern to others in similar difficult times.

Sincerely,
Dennis R. Phelps

Dear Mrs. Stickle

Please accept the enclosed check, made payable to Afghans For Angels,  in memory of our son, William Eckart Smith-Butz.  He was stillborn at 5 and 1/2 months on July 3, 2002.

My husband and I wanted to acknowledge the gift you gave us and our son in the form of a gift to Afghans For Angels, because our baby benefitted from you quiet ministry.  He had a blanket perfectly sized to his tiny shape, to enfold him and protect his body.

We are enclosing a Certificate of Life and excerpts form the memorial service where my husband and I spoke of the caring ministry you provide, sight unseen, to those of us who lose a tiny life before it has begun.

Bless you for all you do, and we hope that this gift will help extend the ministry that you provide, so that other families can be healed by your gifts in the same way that we were healed and comforted.

Thank you so much.

With Warm Regards,
Annamarie and Wolf Smith-Butz

"We discovered the generosity of spirit from family,  from friends,  from strangers with similar experiences,  from the community and from the church.  Discovered sensitivities we did not know existed in the world; that groups of people work a quiet mission sewing and knitting infant wraps and clothing, they do so without fanfare, anonymously, without seeking recognitions for their gentle works.

We discovered again and again what it means to be part of a community of caring; how meaningful it is to have true friends who are unconditionally supportive and present, for family who have traveled distances and taken time out of their lives to share an experience that would have been easier to avoid.  We learned through our son, William Eckart, whose passage here was brief, lasting lessons of what it means to love and be loved."

My name is Nikki.  I had a baby boy named Gabriel Michael Valdez, Born January 23, 2003 and passed on January 25, 2003.  He was born at 29 weeks gestation, weighing 3lbs. and 15 inches long.  I had an afghan sent to my baby thanks to your group!  He passed away in my arms covering up in an afghan.  That is so sweet and thoughtful of everyone who makes those.  Now I have that blanket to keep in his keepsake box that has everything that had touched him when he was here.  Thank you so much for what you all do.  Keep it up and I will do that for others also.

"Thank you" Gifts from the "HEART" and the BEST gifts of ALL.

Afghans for Angels,

Your gift was so delightful and so very thoughtful, too--a favorite of our little someone new!

We are very thankful for your caring way of understanding how we feel during this difficult time.  God Bless you for your gift of love that means so very much!

My husband Jim and I are going to keep trying to have a little ray of sunshine and we know the afghan will be great to wrap the baby up in with love because it was made with so much love.  We will share it with our first baby's brother or sister as well as their story too.

We appreciate your kindness,

Jim and Tina Gordon

Just a little something to help out with the supplies to make these wonderful, caring gifts for those that it means so much to receive and keep for a beautiful memory of what life truly means.

Dear Elizabeth,

Please accept this donation to "Afghans For Angels" in memory of Maggie.

Thank you for all that you do to help others.  You are truly wonderful and offer so much to others in need.  May God keep you in his loving arms.

Fondly,
The Center For Birth
