Born in Baltimore, Md.  and enlisted in the USAF Jun 29, 1950, served 25 years and retired as a MSgt June 1975.  (SERVICE HISTORY)  Basic Trng Lackland AFB, San Antonio Texas (Flight 5140) and Tech School (Radar Op) at Keesler AFB, Biloxi Miss. in 1950.  Short stay at Schenectady NY Oct-Dec50 (656thACWSq Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron-Early Warning Site) and then assigned to St AlbansVt -.(764thACWSq).  In 1953-assigned too Radar Controllers School at  Panama City, Tyndall AFB,Fl. Then overseas to Northern Japan in Hokkaido, for two years(1954-56) at 3 different radar sites(see website..http://po8.com/det45/jr/jr30/index.htm), as Radar Crew Chief, (511ACWGp-848thACWSq Det 30-Rumioi,45-Tobetsu,28-Abashiri-all were but a very  short distance from the Soviet Union).  Back to the states to Winslow AFS,AZ  Feb 56-Nov56,(904thACWSq)..    Then overseas again  to  Japan too  Det 15,610thACWSq, a remote island 50mi west of Nagasaki, Japan (see my website...http://groups.msn.com/610thACWSqRadarSitesSouthernJapan.)from 1956-59, served as Radar Op Crew Chief, Radar Ops Supervisor-1st Sgt.   Returned to the states to  West Mesa AFS(687thACWSq), NMex, 1960-61.  Retrained into Radio Maint 1961 at Keesler AFB Biloxi,Miss. Then assigned to AFIT (Air Force Institute of Technology) Wright Patterson, OH 1962-63, as a Lab Assistant in the Electrical Eng Dept.     Then was assigned to a Combat Control Team at Eglin AFB (testing new methods of marking drop zones and dropping and extracting cargo from C-130 Aircraft at forward unimproved locations) -Went on several manuvers with the Army in Florida and Ozarks.  Also several TDY's to Pope AFB,NC and Fort Benning GA1964-65.  Then (after a 3 week combat training course) to Vietnam 1966-67 with the 1st Inf Division w/FAC- Forward Air Control. (see my web site... http://groups.msn.com/WorkingwiththeFACsinVietnam..)I was NCOIC of the Tactical Air Control Party.  .  Then back to the states to a SAC-COMM Sq(14Comm Sq-Transmitter site-2nd AF) at Barksdale AFB, LA as Maintenance Supervisor,from 1967-69.  Then returned to Japan again to Tokorozawa, an Army Depot (near Yokota-JohnsonAFB).   We had an over the horizon Transmitter site there which was part of a network for detecting missile launches from China and Russia.  Stayed there from 1969 till 1973.  Last Assignment was as NCOIC/Comdr of  a GATR Site (Ground/Air Transmitter Site) at Shafter, Ca.  Closed it up in  Jun 1975 and retired nearby at Bakersfield, Ca.

Born York, PA 1933. Joined USAF Jan. 7, 1953. Basic Training 3360th BMTG, 3360th Tng. Sq., 2290th Flight Sampson AFB, NY (7 Jan - 22 Apr 53) . Technical School 3380th TT Gp, 3383rd Stu. Sq. Keesler AFB, MS (23 Apr 53 - 29 Jan 54) for Airborne Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) and Electronic Counter Counter Measures (ECCM) Operations and Maintenance. Assignment to Japan. Was assigned (4 Apr 54 - 2 Oct 54) to Ground Radar Maintenance 528th renamed 621st Aircraft Control and Warning (AC&W) Detachment 12, Sakata, JP Then transfered (3 Oct 54 - 7 Feb 56) to 621st AC&W Sq Det 46 to the island of Sado Ga Shima, JP Returned to states and assigned (Mar 56 - 10 Dec 56) 3555 Combat Crew Training Sq., Perrin AFB, TX. Discharged 10 Dec 56 with rank of S/Sgt.Awarded Good Conduct, Nationa Defense Service, Korean Service and United Nations Service medals.
My association continued with the USAF as a Bendix Technical Representative for their Ground Radar systems at Fox Harbour, Labrador; Unishima Is, JP, suburiyama, JP and Pyong Taek, Korea between 17 Jan 1957 and 26 Oct 1963.
Also was on contract (Nov 76 - Sep 78) with the USN at Ford Island (Pearl Harbour), HI and on NASA programs at Barstow, CA, Madrid, SP and Pasadena, CA where I retired (1990) while on contract at JPL, Pasadena, CA.

Born at an early age on July 4, 1940, in Chicago, IL. Got older thru time
 
Active duty 1962-1968. 4 years at Space Systems Div., LA CA. Project officer for the AF SS-03 upper stage launch vehicle, aka "Ablestar" (used to launch Navy Transit Navigation satellites for the Polaris fleet - this was the development project for the current Global Positioning System). Several more years in a Reserve M-Day positions. Last job was as a software consultant to the Flight Test Data Reduction Center at EAFB. Honorably discharged as Major.
 
22+ years at Aerojet Electrosystems, helping develop software for the Defense Support Program (USAF satellite-based early waring system to detect ballistic missile launches, aimed at us or allies). Currently retired.
