| The Acorn Festival is the second week of October, starting on Monday. The first thing you will notice is the mysterious Cornimer (the Great and Mighty Cornimer of the Acorn Festival) anouncing the festival each day.
TALKING TO CORNIMER: When you talk to Cornimer for the first time, he will tell you about the festival, and that there are acorns scattered throughout your town. all he asks is for you to collect them, and bring them to him. In exchange he gives you gifts. The second time you talk to Cornimer he offers to "Divine the Future" you need to have an empty space in your letters to receive this special fortune. From this point on, everytime you talk to Cornimer he will automatically check for acorns. WARNING: dont give him Rotten Acorns, or he will toss out all the acorns you have on you. COLLECTING ACORNS: Walk around your town, and you find acorns laying on the ground, if you talk to neighbors they will talk about the enjoyment of hoarding acorns. Cornimer said that he scattered the acorns around town randomly, however it is not random at all. The will only be found laying next to "regular" trees. Each morning Acorns will appear on the left, right, and in front of most regular trees. (must be full grown) Acorns will not appear around Fruit trees, Cedar trees, or Coconut trees. So its best to plan ahead and make sure you have plenty of regular trees full grown in your town prior to the start of the week. NOTE: Weeds are the enemy, if there are any weeds on the right, left or in front of these regular trees, no acorn will appear there for that day. Actually this goes for any item, design, junk, etc. If its on the ground on either side of or in front of the tree, then no acorn will appear there. Please see TIP below before giving acorns to Cornimer. GIVING ACORNS TO CORNIMER: WARNING: dont give him any Rotten Acorns, or he will toss out all the acorns you have on you. It is always best to either drop all rotten acorns somewhere safe before speaking to Cornimer, or simply sell them to Tom Nook first. (Nook pays 2 bells apiece for rotten acorns) Cornimer automatically checks for how many acorns you have on you. and then asks if he can have all of them. as you give him the acorns, he keeps a running count of the number of acorns you have given him. after reaching various totals he will give you gifts. These gifts are the Mush Items for the Mushroom series. Below is the list of totals you have to reach, and which items you recieve. (he only gives you one of each item) 5 acorns = Mush Stool 10 acorns = Mush End Table 25 acorns = Mush Lamp 40 acorns = Mush Chair 60 acorns = Mush Dresser 80 acorns = Mush Closet 100 acorns = Mush Stand 120 acorns = Mush Table 140 acorns = Mush TV 170 acorns = Mush Bed 200 acorns = Forest Wall 230 acorns = Forest Floor If you give Cornimer any more acorns, he keeps them, but he tells you he doesnt have any more items to give, and he cant count any higher. Your better off NOT giving him anymore once you have reached 230. Cornimer will take acorn donations throughout the week, he keeps track of the totals from day to day starting monday through saturday. He only gives one of each item per player for the entire week. Mushroom Series Page TIP: It is my suggestion to collect and save all acorns you find all week, and then on Saturday the last day of the festival, and the last day that acorns appear in your town, to then start giving them to Cornimer. Start out by giving Cornimer "small acorns" and "acorns". once you have given away all of these, then give him "round acorns" and then if you still havent received all the items, give them "large acorns". The reason for this, is cornimer considers each acorn as a single acorn, so once you have given him 230 acorns. you can sell all the remaining acorns to Tom Nook. This way you have saved all the most valuable acorns for last. Acorn Values if sold to Tom Nook: Large = 200 Round = 100 Acorn = 80 Small = 50 Rotton = 2 TT WARNING: Once you have started giving acorns to Cornimer DO NOT Time Travel outside of that year. This causes Cornimer to start over from the begining.
