Town Theme
Walkthrough

So your thinking of creating and laying out a full theme for your town. Get ready to dedicate some serious time to this project.

Once you decide what theme you want your town to be, now you get to make the designs. (or have someone create them for you).

It's best if you have a very good idea of what all you want your town to look like, and what designs you will need to achieve this.

If you are using more than 8 designs (and most decent themes do) you need to decide which designs to store on which characters. I suggest that what ever designs will cover most of the ground should be on your main character, as these are the ones most likely to be accidently picked up by visitors.

Ok now you have your designs made, and an idea of how you want your town to look. I find it easiest to cut down all the trees and remove all flowers in the area I want to cover first. this gives you a clean area to just lay out designs.

-----------------------

Now its time to start.

Once you learn the order of where the designs fall when you drop them, this will make things go alot quicker. You can layout 9 designs at a time.

laying down your designs is quicker when using your stylus.

For example: you stand in a place where you can drop 9 designs without moving. IF you are facing NORTH this is the order that the designs will drop.

This pattern works according to what direction your character is facing.
1st Under character
2nd Directly in front of character
3rd Front Right of character
4th Front Left of character
5th Right side of character
6th Left side of character
7th Back Right of character
8th Back left of character
9th directly behind your character

Unfortunately even though your laying out 9 designs at once, its still going to take a long time to drop designs to make a decent layout.

But if you think it took a long time to drop the designs, wait till you have to pick them all up. Because you have to stand on each design in order to pick it up. so consider that it will take you 3 to 4 times longer to pick up everything than it did to drop them.

Important things to remember:
If you are still working on getting a "Perfect Town" rating, designs on the ground count against you.

Nothing can lay or land on the ground if its covered in designs. If you shake fruit out of a tree, the fruit will bounce once off of a design to try and find another spot to land, but the second bounce makes it disappear. Same goes with 'balloon presents'.

Remember any designs layed on the spots in front of your town hall where "visitors" appear, will be gone when the visit leaves. Same goes for any designs layed out around sign posts.

IF you notice a design doesnt quite look right, once its layed out, its just a simple matter of going into ables and altering the design. once its saved, all the designs layed out in the town will also change to match the new appearance.

Good Luck and Dont Rush things..
