Australian Miniature Goat Association Inc. (AMGA) Membership Conditions & Code of Ethics. (Incorporated under the Associations Incorporated Act, 1984) Association Objectives - To promote ethical behaviour in the breeding and sale of the Australian Miniature Goat
- To promote the breed to new and potential owners
- To develop co-operative marketing for Breeders and Members
- To develop and promote high standards and rules for management, breeding, sale and development of Australian Miniature Goats
- To provide a Networking Forum for Miniature Goat Breeders and Owners to air issues, gain information and network to facilitate successful breeding and sale of miniature goats
- To provide a registry for Australian Miniature Goats
- To encourage the exhibiting of the miniature breed
- To use the income and property of the AMGA towards the promotion of Australian Miniature Goats
Membership Conditions -
Membership is subject to the AMGA Membership Conditions at all times -
It is the responsibility of each member to notify the Association of changes to contact details. -
Membership benefits are for the AMGA member only and are not transferable to other parties -
Members agree to be bound by the AMGA Rules of Association as registered with the Queensland Department of Fair Trading -
Application for Membership must be made on the AMGA Membership Form accompanied by the prescribed fees as published from time to time -
Membership may be terminated, or rejected, by the Australian Miniature Goat Association Inc. for cause detrimental to the interest to AMGA policies, objectives and harmonious relationship of its members. Such termination/rejection is subject to the conditions outlined in the Rules of Association -
Membership is open to any person, partnership, company or syndicate at the sole discretion of the AMGA Board -
AMGA may take action to reprimand, suspend or expel any member if it considers such member to be guilty of fraudulent practices or for any breach of these rules or who's conduct in any respect shall be deemed derogatory or prejudicial to the interests of the Association -
Disciplined, suspended or expelled members and deregistered animals may be published in the AMGA newsletter -
AMGA will not intervene in financial disputes between buyers and sellers of animals -
Member resignations must be delivered in writing stating their intention to resign -
Any member wishing to resign remains liable for any outstanding membership or other fees -
The Australian Miniature Goat Association operates on a ‘three strikes and your out’ policy where members who have three upheld complaints of unethical behaviour recorded against them will be expelled from the Association Code of Ethics - In consideration of the Australian Miniature Goat Association Inc electing me to its general Membership, I pledge to this Association that;
I shall ensure all animals in my care shall be properly housed, adequately fed and watered and are given proper medical attention when required. I shall breed for the purpose of improving the breed I will ensure all animals sold with papers have transfer signed over to new owner on completion of sale. I shall ensure that all persons acquiring goats from me clearly understand their responsibility for the care and welfare of the animal/s. I shall not deliberately misrepresent the characteristics of the breed, or falsely advertise or mislead any person regarding any aspects of the animal I shall not knowingly sell or place unhealthy or unsound animals without fully informing the potential keeper as to the nature of the problem prior to the completion of the sale. I shall provide full details of my stud buck when selling an in-kid doe or after service to an outside animal after all relevant fees have been paid This code of ethics will be voluntarily accepted and complied with in conjunction with and in addition to all current Rules of the Australian Miniature Goat Association Inc.
