Shaan HURLEY on the Autodesk newsgroup has recently started a topic about the necessity to change certain AutoCAD 2002 system variables default values.

This is a very good idea and although there is no guaranty that there will be a change in system variables in the future, you are all invited to tell us and the AutoCAD users community about your wishes regarding what system variables should be on the new SysVar page on this community. (you'll find this page on the left menu)

We're changing our name!

MSN Communities will become MSN Groups this summer. Groups more accurately conveys what we're all about—peoplewith similar interests building a group around those interests. In addition, "Groups" is rapidly becoming the standard term for this type of service. "Groups" is simpler, more precise, and a lot easier to type.

What do I need to do?
Nothing. The change will create a new Web address (http://groups.msn.com) for our service, but the old URL will continue to work for at least six months. Links on any custom Web pages will be updated automatically, and all other links (e.g. inside Messages, Photo posts, and Lists) will be redirected from the old URL to the new one for at least six months. You will want to get into the habit of using the new address, though, and if you have specific pages or communities on your Favorites or Bookmarks list, you should update them to the new address.

What is the new e-mail address for my community?
Take the name of your community, remove any spaces, and add @groups.msn.com to the end of the name. For example, if your community is "My Photos", the new community e-mail address will be MyPhotos@groups.msn.com. Your old e-mail address will continue to work for six months from the date of the transition, but you can use the new one as soon as the name change takes effect. If you'd like more information on how to use your Community/Group's mailing list feature see: How to send an e-mail to your group.

What else is changing?

Group e-mail distribution lists will be easier to use.
Do you like receiving group messages in your inbox but find the sheer volume overwhelming? Now you will easily be able to subscribe to only those discussions that interest you.

Multiple discussion deletions are coming!
No more tedious individual discussion deletion. Managers will have a simple new way of selecting and deleting multiple discussions.

Look for additional information on your What’s New page in the upcoming weeks.

Note to MSN Money community members: You will still be able to access all your stock and expert boards via the community area on MSN Money.

Use our community as a mailing list!
What is a mailing list?
A collection of e-mail addresses of people who have chosen to participate in e-mail discussions on a particular topic.

Will everyone who joins the community automatically be a part of the mailing list?
If they choose Inbox as their preference for Messages on their E-mail settings page, all messages will arrive in their e-mail inbox.

EXAMPLE:

Can I have a mailing list without using other features in the Community?
Sure! You only need to visit the community to create, join or leave the mailing list.

How would I leave the mailing list if I don't like it?
Simply visit the community and change your e-mail settings from Inbox to Daily Digest or On the web. If you don't want to be a part of the community at all, you should unjoin.

Is my privacy protected?
Yes. Only the mailing list e-mail address is shared. E-mail addresses of individual members are not exposed.
