Transportation

If you are going to stay for a few weeks in Suriname, there is no need to worry about transportation: you'll be able to get a taxi for very cheap. 2 US $ is often enough to get you wherever, as far as you stay in Paramaribo's bondaries.

Plenty buses too. Nicely decorated. Just hail them on the road. They'll stop for you. A bus trip is no more than 30 US cents.

You'll have to give a phone call to a 'taxi station' to get a ride. Taxi stations are everywhere. Just ask some neighbors which taxi station is the closest to were you stay.

There are also possibilities to rent cars: http://budget-luxury-cars.com/?http://www.budget-luxury-cars.com/airportrentacar/suriname/paramaribo.html
