Nickerie is the second largest city of Suriname. I don't know much about the place as I never went there but the guy who made this website seems to know a whole lot about his "beloved Nickerie". Well done website, filled with pictures. The guy sure love Nickerie. It is a place where people grow rice as rice fields abound in that area.
Well, that's it: "Pictures from Suriname" !

Pictures of the colonial era. Comparing old and recent pictures show that Surinam as an independent nation was able to assure a continuity in the preservation and the continuation of its unique culturally and historicaly blended style.
- PHOTOS AND IMAGES OF SURINAME (1930-1960)
''On the internet it's difficult to find photos and images about the colonial Surinam. So let's start with a collection : from time to time I will add new ones.'' -the website.
In my opinion :some of the most actual and illustrative shots of Paramaribo. Unfortunately the pictures seem to heve been taken during the rainyseason and on Sundays; which gives somehow a general impression that it is a soaked and desert capital. So please keep in mind Paramaribo gets sunny and crowded too in other cirumstances!! Paramaribo is a beautiful city, green and living. Saturday mornings are great!! Plenty music and colors everywhere.
Plenty interesting pics from allover the country (Bakaaboto, Galibi), SD visited Suriname.
