  I'm Firedogg/Tony.  I love to take nature/wildlife shots and highschool sporting events. I provide sports and other shots to the local weekly paper along with the occasional article I scribble.  I use a Canon 1D digital SLR, D30 and G5, 17-35mm 2.8L,24-70 2.8L,70-200 2.8 IS L , and a Pentax WR105 for the wet and grungy stuff. I picked up photography by accident, actually.  A courtesy photographer was gone so  I gave it a shot.  After several mistakes and learning through them, I'm now very happy at what I do and, according to everybody else, a very good photographer!!  I also direct music at the chapel on the base.  Thanks for inviting me to come on board...am enjoying it!!

I have been interested in photography for as long as i can remember.  I love to take pics of just about anything, but lately i havent had much time to take too many photos.  I started my own appraisal business and it has taken up much of my time, but the work schedule is leveling a bit and hopefully will allow for more photo time.  I am glad to be a part of this group and hope to learn all that I can. And maybe in the process, i can help someone else.  Thanks for this opportunity.

 

I started taking pictures in high school on the journalism staff, was given assignments, the first time I developed a picture...I was in awe.  I took pictures of an Elvis impersonator, he had me meet him after I developed the pictures I'd taken, he purchased the pictures and used one on the back cover of his album and one on a poster he used for advertising his show.  I was hooked.  I joined the navy in hopes of becoming a photographer there, but, as most know the recruiters promised me the moon, and soon learned that this job field was shut tight.  Over the years my interest in photography drifted.  I've worn many different career hats so far, ranging from sailor, pizza maker, chef, tattooist, printer, computer repair tech., network manager, and now I want to add the photog hat to my tree of trades.  My journalism teacher once told me I had a natural nack of catching a person's right angle, I'm going to find out I guess.  I'm in the process of buying some land, and hope to open a studio on it.  I've been using Paint Shop Pro since it first came out and have now upgraded to psp7.  I really enjoy it, but have also been playing with Photoshop 7 and I'm finding things in this program I like better.  I look forward to making new friends and contacts here and hope that I can share any useful knowledge I can.

I am a non-traditional, 3/4 time, student working a full-time postal  job, part-time job at SMS Photo Services and misc. side photo jobs. Just finishing a summer internship with the local newspaper, I just shot World Team Tennis and John McEnroe and loved it.

so i have a lot of interests.

Photography - got into serious serious photography about 3 years ago. Now having spent a SUBSTANTIAL amount of my earnings on it, I am getting better at it. The joy it brings to me is indescribable.  I was never any good at drawing (actually I was pretty horrible), but always seemed to have an eye for art. and I love tinkering with toys - the electronic/optical/mechanical kind - so the camera was calling me, and i answered it.

Rare is the time u see me without a camera, I carry it everywhere.

I think you are a photography buff if, when you see a person...you choose the depth of field for your eyes!

 

what else I do?

by education I am an urban planner - the guy to blame for the situation your city is in!

by profession I am a software engineer - the guy the planner blames, when his software does not work, thereby leading to the situation in the city!

in terms of years I shall finish a quarter century on earth in Dec 2002. but at heart, I will always be young (incidentally thats what my name means in hindi - youth)

Iam an avid hiker, living in So Cal has the distinct advantage.

I drive a 4X4 Nissan Xterra..yup a definite gas guzzler that I justify by biking to work. i love my X. As much as I love my camera.

and I love badminton. For those who are not aware. Badminton is this fast paced SPORT that is played in most parts of the world (NOT THE BEACH SIDE RECREATIONAL GAME IT HAS BECOME HERE). Top speeds for a smash have been recorded at 180 mph (yes with a shuttle) and a player can easily cover a mile running and changing directions in a court that is half the size of a tennis court - so it is exhausting!)

 

overall, I am quite content with my life - regrets I have a few, but then who doesn't.

well... there is this Nikkor Af-S 80-200 D ED... and that SB 80DX

and a girl..who would like to hike and carry the 400mm lens, while I lug the tripod

Used to play with photography in the late '80s and early '90s, but put it to the side. Now I'm interested in getting back into it and would liketo turn it into a career. Looking to learn from others in the field. Can't put anthing on line right now,because my computer and scanner aren't on speaking terms. Hope to have that fixed soon.

I am a stay at home mom the best job in the world!! I love photography taking and looking at pics!!! I would love to learn how to develope my own film! I love putting pictures into stories! I'm working on my daughter's first 5 yrs. it's very fun to put the scrapbook together with my daughter!

 

 

 

 

Been photographing wedding portraits, teams, passports, commercial,  you name it I may have done it. Fifteen years making a living as a photographer and raising four children.  Even wrote a book to help others who want to make money in this arena of life.   "The Photographer's Manual to Making Money"

My first love has always been photography!  I studied it in high school every chance I got (mostly because the film and developing was free).  After high school (back a few years), I went through a correspondence course with the New York Institute of Photography and learned a lot (some of which I have forgotten due to fully automatic cameras).  However, I have never ceased to take pictures. My family lovingly refers to me as the family shutterbug.  I just recently fulfilled a dream and bought my first medium format camera off of e-bay.  Will be sharing some of those photos soon!  I think I just might get to do what I've always wanted to do and I'm pretty excited about it!

Hi everybody, I suppose I should introduce myself, well I am 29 years old (Thinking of becoming 28 next year, don't want to be 30 yet!) and comefrom a little town in East Sussex in the UK.  I am married and have a 5 year old daughter.  I am mad about computers and spend most of my time using mine, but when I took take some time off for good behavior You will normally find me out and about taking photos.  I am a member of half a dozen MSN photo clubs so far and even have my own one

which I am hoping to build into a great group. Please feel free to come and join and take part in the competitions and discussions.

I recently switched from 35mm film to a Canon 10D digital and have been published a few times in a major Newspaper in Texas because of everything I have learned from the fine folks here in this group. I am a freelance photographer trying to break into this great craft we all call Photography.
