 SENT THESE PHOTOS IN...

BJ AND THE BEAR KENWORTH AERODYNES

I was working at Michigan Kenworth in 1982,and had the chance to be able to drive the BJ tractor in,and out of the shop.  It was there for a week. Greg was there for the first day, but he had to leave to start filming "Stripped to Kill" w/ Kay Lenz.   The trailer was to be there also, but the brakes went out in Chicago, where they were fixed ,then the trailer caught up with tractor in Detriot. This is the tractor that was sent through the Billboard at the start of the show. You could even see Bear's footprints in the passenger's seat.

These top two photos are of the 3rd season of BJ and the Bear, only the truck was Brand New..It was purchased through Chicago Kenworth and was sitting at Michigan Kenworth's display lot.

These two photos show the writing in the windshield saying "Actual truck seen on weekly TV series "BJ and the Bear"

These photos show BJ's Kenworth, they are pics from the right side of the 2nd season BJ Kenworth Aerodyne.  The way to tell this is the air tank is behind the battery box.  On the original, the air tank was located underneath the battery box, and the third season truck there are two air tanks under the battery box.

The famous Billie Joe McKay logo on the door!

Some more interesting comments from michman!

I just remembered some things that might interest you,and other fans.  If you
at those pics close, the new truck had red quarter fenders in front of the
duals, the first one had the stainless steel ones.  The truck I drove had
116,000 miles on it.  I remember the shifting was real loose and the mechanics had to fix the linkage before it went to Detroit.  Also, because it went through the billboard a few times the Headlight panels had to be replaced often!! The studio was suprised that was all that was damaged.  They brought pictures of the billboard, and showed how the billboard was built just for the truck to go through. This was also the one used at the start of the show when the theme song was played, and the overhead shot was taken.

Thanks "michman" for sharing these photos here at the club!
