CHAPTER EIGHT

CALLIE AND THE ALLEY

Lobo walked into a large office. He looked around at it. There was wall to wall carpeting, a large long table with chairs in the middle of the room. Pictures of different mountain scenery were on the walls. He walked over, pulled out a chair and sat at one end of the long table.  He waited quietly. There was a knock on the door and the door opened. Fifteen FBI agents walked in and sat down at the table.  Lobo waited for them to settle in and he spoke. "I’m Agent Lobo from the Washington FBI office and I’m here to fill you people in on your new assignment. You will be working with me on Operation Moneybags."

One agent spoke out. "Where is this going?"

Lobo looked at the young man. "Operation Moneybags is a case that will bring down two people. One person is Johnny Smith. He’s a man who has power beyond our wildest dreams. He is our top priority. He’s currently working on Jennifer Reid."

"Who is Jennifer Reid?" another agent asked.

"Jennifer Reid is an Aires to the Reid Foundation of Arts. The foundation makes rare paintings and statues for people who want to spend a lot of money. Their work can sell in the billions to the right buyer." Lobo explained to everyone.

"Where does Johnny Smith fit in?" a female agent questioned as she took down notes.

" Johnny Smith has made his way into the foundation 5 years ago making him Jennifer Reid’s right hand man. He has his hands on a big payoff. Six months ago three unicorn statues were made and Johnny has plans for them. Once he gets them he’ll auction them off to the highest bidder." Lobo replied.

"Will he auction them off on E-bay?" a man asked jokingly.

Everyone laughed.

"Now here comes the bad news." Lobo cut in.

They looked at Lobo.

"Johnny Smith will use the money to finance international terrorists with an extremely high payback price. He’ll be the terrorist’s personal bank for weapons." Lobo replied as he looked around the table.

"Who is the other guy?" another agent questioned.

"The other man is Billie Joe McKay. He’s trucker who I have had dealt with in the past when I was sheriff. He just happens to be hauling this load of statues. As far as I’m concerned he’s helping Johnny Smith and he’ll be going down too." Lobo said. "Where is the spokes person for the SCAT?"

"Sir, SCAT is no longer. It’s all run by the FBI. You’ll have to inform the police in Los Angeles about your plans." the young agent replied. "When does this all go down?"

Lobo stood up at the end of the table. "Everything goes down in a few days."

Lobo stood up and left the room.

B.J. pulled out the yellow toggle switch and the brakes activated on the truck and trailer.

The Kenworth sat in a parking lot at a truck stop parked between two white Freightliner trucks that had van trailers hooked up to them.

He looked over at Jenna. "It’s been a long time since I seen Callie and Stacks."

"I’m ready to meet them." Jenna smiled at B.J. and opened the passenger side door.

B.J. opened the driver’s side door and Bear followed him as B.J. climbed down out of the truck. He shut the door. Jenna climbed down out of the truck and shut the door. She looked around at the truck stop. There were rows of 18 wheelers that filled the parking lot. A large restaurant stood in the middle of the lot. People were coming and going from the building.  B.J. and Bear walked around the front of the truck.

"Walk like a man." BJ told Bear as they walked across the parking lot.

They crossed the parking lot heading for the restaurant. Jenna opened the door and B.J. went in. Bear followed B.J. inside. Jenna walked in letting the door close behind her. They looked around when B.J. seen Callie over by the window booth.

They went over.

Callie stood up and watched BJ and Bear stroll up.

"Billie Joe Mckay!" Callie said in happiness. "How are you?"

They all sat down in the booth.

"I’m doing ok, it sure has been a long time hasn’t it?" B.J. said as he looked at Callie.

"Yes it has been Billie Joe." Callie answered back

A waitress walked up to the booth. "Welcome to the Triple T Truck Stop. May I take your order?"

"We’ll have three coffee and a milk for my buddy." B.J. told the waitress and he looked at Bear.

Jenna cut in. "I’ll take an orange juice instead of coffee."

The waitress wrote it down on her small notepad and left.

"Are you going into introduce me to your friend?" Callie asked.

"Sure." B.J. replied "This is Jenna Reid. I’m working for her at the present time." B.J. told Callie.

Jenna smiled at Callie.
