A MEMORIAL DEDICATED TO DOROTHY HODGKINS

March 18, 1949 - July 1, 2006
Dorothy Hodgkins was one of the best and brightest person in this world who gave her time and compassionate wisdom so freely to everyone she met. Dorothy had a shining light that was second to none. Despite being sick she gave her whole self to everyone, always putting others ahead of her. Dorothy's humor and friendship will always be remembered.

We all lost someone who touched our hearts in so many ways here at the BJ and the Bear Fan club.
God blesses us each with so many things and sometimes that blessing is a dear friend. He chooses a special angel, picked just for you to bring you happiness, laughter and joy.
From the time you meet that special friend in your path of life. They hold your heart in their hands and add countless precious moments to your life.
Not one of us knows how long they'll be here. Or when God will call for his angel to return. And take that special angel that has been your friend, picked just for you back to his glorious home.
On July 1st 2006 our founder and dear friend Dorothy Hodgkins was called to return to heaven before we could all get a chance to thank her for everything she has done for all of us.
It's said to be that angels are sent from above. We've always had our angel.......Dorothy Hodgkins.......whose heart was filled with love.
Upon learning of her sudden departure, we all instantly slipped into a space that can be described only as sadness. Sadness that hangs still, and that surely is shared by all those who knew and loved her.
Our eyes are filling with tears, a dear friend has gone away. Dorothy was a beautiful person as we could ever ask for, she always had a kind word for everyone. Thanks to her great talent and willpower, she got together millions of fans, giving us some wonderful emotions. Despite her painful illness, she always had a thought for us.
Dorothy was thankful for her family at the fan club, all of us, and how much we all meant to her, and how happy she was that we could all enjoy our time together.
Dorothy completed mission in her life, her mission was to always help people believe in their dreams and never to give up.....no matter what. Her words of encouragement touched each of us all from all walks of life.
She has built a legacy that will honor her memory with every new fan that joins, every picture and word that gets posted, and every mile that rolls off of every truck that is in any way connected to BJ and the Bear.
Thank you Dorothy for your company, friendship and kindness. Lord willing, someday we will all be able to meet again at the Country Comfort truck stop in the sky. We are truly thankful to have had her as a president of our fan club, and for everything she’s done and everything she’s been for us.
The BJ and the Bear Fan Club brought us online but Dorothy brought us together as a family.
We know as each day goes by.....you'll be watching us every step of the way from your cloud in heaven.
We will miss you, Dorothy.

To my dearest friends at the BJ and the Bear Fan Club
Some things I'd like to say. But first of all to let you know, that I arrived okay. Please understand life isn't always fair but God really needed me, That's why I couldn't stay. I'm writing this from Heaven, where I dwell with God above. Where there's no tears or sadness, there is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy, just because I'm out of sight. Remember that I'm with you, every morning, noon, and night. That day I had to leave you, when my life on earth was through God picked me up and hugged me, and he said, "I welcome you."
"Good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone As for your dearest friends, they'll be here later on. I need you here so badly, as part of My big plan. There's so much that we have to do to help our mortal man."
Then God gave me a list of things he wished for me to do, and foremost on that list of mine is to watch and care for you. I will be beside you every day of the week and year. and when you're sad, I'm standing there to wipe away the tear.
And when you lie in bed at night, the days chores put to flight I am closest to you in the middle of the night. When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years, because you're only human, there's bound to be some tears.
Do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve some pain. Remember, there would be no flowers without a little rain. I wish that I could tell you, of all that God has planned. But if I were to tell you, you would not understand.
One thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over, I am closer to you now than I ever was before. And to my friends, trust God knows what is best. I am not far away from you, I'm just beyond the crest.
There are rocky roads ahead for you, and many hills to climb. Together we can do it, taking it one day at a time. It was my philosophy, and I'd like it for you too, that is, give unto the World so the World will give to you.
If you can help someone who's in sorrow or in pain, then you can say to God at night, that your day was not in vain. And now I am contented that my life, it was worthwhile. Knowing, as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
When you're walking down the street, and have me on your mind. I'm walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind. And when you feel a gentle breeze of wind upon your face, that's me giving you a great big hug, or just a soft embrace.
When it's time for you to go from that body to be free, remember you are not going, you're coming home to me. I will always love you, from that place way up above. I will be in touch soon,
Hugs
~~Doe~~
P.S. God sends His Love.
