In South Amboy, New Jersey on October 14, 1953 at 10:30 p.m., Barbara Evigan presented her husband, Ralph, with a beautiful 9 lbs. 3 oz. baby boy. They named their first child "Gregory Ralph Evigan". Little did they, or the rest of the world, know that a star had been born that night. The world would come to know and love him as "Greg Evigan", an accomplished pianist, composer, songwriter, and actor. He also owns his own recording studio and record label, "Amboy Music Productions", where he is a music producer in the 32 track digital recording studio. The ability to play many other instruments is also another one of his accomplishments. Greg grew up and attended school in Sayreville, New Jersey, where he enjoyed acting in school plays.

Although best known for his roles in the hit TV series "BJ and the Bear" and "My Two Dads", Greg's professional career began in musical theater. At the tender age of 17, just a few months after graduating from high school, he saw an announcement in Variety for an open-call audition. After more than a dozen call backs, his persistence was rewarded when he landed the role of "Annis" and understudied "Jesus" in the first touring company of "Jesus Christ Superstar". After a year on the road, he joined the cast on Broadway for another year. Replacing Barry Bostwick in the lead role of "Danny Zuko" in the Broadway hit "Grease" was the next step for Greg.

Greg, being a multi-talented performer, has continued pursuing his passion for music while developing as both a dramatic and comedic actor. After "Grease", Greg was brought out to California to audition for a role in the TV series "A Year at the Top." It was about two young rock stars who sell their souls to the Devil in exchange for a year at the top. The series also starred Mickey Rooney as the Devil and Greg and Paul Shaffer as the rock stars. In addition, Greg and Paul wrote the original theme music for the show and recorded an album titled "Greg and Paul."

Greg's next project was in the nationally syndicated series "All That Glitters" starring along with Chuck McCann and Lois Nettleton. However, his career really took off when he was cast as the free-spirited truck driver, "Billie Joe McKay" in the hit series "BJ and the Bear". Greg's rugged good looks, flashing blue-green eyes, charm, and his flair for comedy, helped him establish the character "Billie Joe". In the memories of a generation we will always remember him as "Billie Joe". The "BJ and the Bear theme song was also sung by Greg.

After a few years of acting in Movies of the Week, Greg starred in the film "Stripped to Kill'. After this film, he landed a TV series role playing "Joey Harris", opposite Paul Reiser in "My Two Dads". In 1987, the show received the "Peoples Choice Award" for "Best New Comedy Series". Again, Greg sang and co-wrote the theme song.

During this time, Greg also played lead roles in the feature films, "Deep Star Six" "Echoes in Crimson" and "Private Road", just to name a few. In the movie "Private Road" he also doubled as Musical Supervisor for the film and sang the title song "Feel the Wind" for the sound track.

In 1991, Greg starred with Connie Selleca in the production of "P.S. I Luv U" and again sang the theme song. Several TV movies followed including "Lies Before Kisses" with Jacqueline Smith; "The Lady Forgets" with Donna Mills; and "One of Her Own". For "One of Her Own" he received much critical acclaim for his portrayal of a police officer who rapes his rookie partner, played by Lori Loughlin.

Greg's ability to portray such a multi-faceted character in "One of Her Own" attracted William Shatner to cast him as his co-star in the four "Tekwar" movies and also in the 18 "Tekwar" series, written and produced by Shatner. The role of "Jake Cardigan" called on Greg to play a bitter, tough-guy, ex-cop turned private eye in Shatner's 2034 world.

After "Tekwar", Greg did 12 episodes as psychiatrist "Dr. Dan Hathaway" in "Melrose Place". Shortly afterwards, he was cast in the prime time soap "Pacific Palisades". Greg has also starred in many other made-for-TV movies, such as "Survivor", "Earthquake in New York", "Spectre", and the movie titled "Sweet Revenge." Greg's most recent starring role was in the Global Television series, "Big Sound" where he played music promoter, Bill Sutton. The show's first season is being rerun in some parts of Canada, on satellite television.  Since 2000 Greg has starred in 5 more movies, "Spirit," "He Sees You When Your Sleeping," "Arizona Summer," "Straight From the Heart" and "Isabella Rocks."  Greg has also guest starred in the tv shows "Reba" as Bill the Plumber, on "JAG" and soon to be released "The New Hunter."  Greg currently is touring with the Slanted Fedora Entertainment Conventions.  He may be coming to a city near you SOON !!!  Please check out my web site honoring Greg at

Music has always been Greg's first love, according to this multi-talented actor. He recently recorded eight original songs for his upcoming CD at Abbey Roads Studios in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Although he is comfortable in several musical genres, this experience proved to be particularly moving to him. Greg says excitedly, "When you hear the lush sound, you feel full of music. I was moved to tears at the piano." Greg has already produced his first solo CD, titled "Slow Down", which you can order through this fan site. It is composed of 10 original songs that Greg wrote, composed, sang, and produced in his own studio under his label. Greg's dream is to someday go on tour with his music.
