The Good ole "Country Comfort"
The good ole "Country Comfort" Truckstop was located South of Atlanta, Georgia yes... Georgia I say there....It was the Transport City Truckstop back then built by a real estate development group. It opened late 1978 and son it was a truckstop like you would never believe when it first opened I mean sauna rooms for male and female drivers for starters....card rooms (well they were called quiet rooms) we used them for high stakes poker games I even won a young mans truck and trailer one night....Oh real estate folks running a truck stop they didn't have a clue there what was up I mean it was cool we could bring out "adult beverages" up there and it was cool...whatta place that was....Also it served as southern headquarters for the now defunct I.T.A. (independent truckers association) during the strikes..
