| Fire Slate
©2003Lisa/Gem This is my first tut, so please bare with me on this one. Here is the tut for the fire slat that I did, you will need a slat tube if you do not have one you can get one Here and Eyecandy, then the others are just tubes of your choice, I got my tube thats on the slats on a group I joined, and the other from one of my favorit native sites Here sorry I can not share my tubes with you unless you email me privately otherwise I am clueless as to how.
Lets get started :) first open psp, select new, you want this new window around 500x500 pixels and transparent. now go get your slat tube place it just up from centre of you page...leave the ants marching. If the ants are not marching..not a problem, simply grab your magic wond, hold the shift key down and click on each slat...now that the ants are marching we are set to go to the next step. Now you can change the color of your slats if you desire, simply click on the paint can, then click on the arrow under styles, click gradient, I chose the black and white gradient, see image below for better details... Now take the your curser over to the slats and click, you can lighter or darker this gradient if you like by going into color/adjust/brightness/contrast then for settings I chose for Brightness -33 and contrast -58 click ok now you need to make a new layer, go to layer/new raster layer, you can name this what ever you chose, I normally name mine after the tube I am putting on it. now get your tub and place it on the slats, if it is two big you can undo and shrink it with the scale option Now that you have your image in the slats, with the ants still marching go to layers and merge/ merge visible now we have to add another layer so you need to go, layer/New raster layer now go to selections, and select none, this will stop the ants from marching for now. now you can place a new image on here she will be the one in front of the slats, to do this go to your tubes icon click then right click if the tool bar is not showing and then left click on tool options find the tube you desire and put in place Now if you want to put a name in here we need yip, you guessed it another layer! go layer/new raster now click the A icon and we can add the name, find a font you like, I used ILS script then I filled with a gradient these are the settings
