This collection, mainly of J.M. Scott Maxwell's which he commisoned in 1908 is totally unique and has never been seen before outwith the Scott Maxwell family.
Baillieston House and estate is only more important in an historical context than other older properties of the area purely because it gave its name to the village of Baillieston. Other houses from which parts of the district derived their names were Garrowhill and Mount Vernon.
The full and factual account of the history of the lands known as Baillieston estate, who lived there and what they did before and after the building of the mansionhouse has still to be told but research is well under way and when complete it will be told on this site.
