Hello and welcome to the Banana Bunch group, this group is for the benefit of all the children and members of staff who were in the many Dr. Barnardo Homes till they mostly closed in the late 1980s Then in 1991 the ever open door was finaly closed. Some were sold and others knocked down.

If like me you would like to rekindle memories of those happy halcyon times or sad times if you had them, or maybe you just want contact with people who went through the same sort of childhood that only you can relate, or just to meet up with your old friends who were like brothers and sisters, then heres the place to do it.

Anybody wishing to join this group, please give some indication on your application message that you have some connection to Dr. Barnardo’s Homes and what years you were in care. Please remember when posting do not print defamatory remarks about ex members of staff  or old boys and girls by name as the post will be removed without notice.
