Welcome to "Jake" Prescott's Barton Banter a collection of web pages put together for those interested in the family history pertaining to Barton Parish. Barton church was the Parish Church for the chapelries of Martindale and Patterdale as well as townships of Sockbridge, Yanwath, Tirril, Eamont Bridge, Winder and Pooley Bridge. I have in my possession :- 1851 census compiled by Cumbria Family History Society BARTON RECORDS compiled 1951 by Ernest Hudson, Vicar of Barton.
