January 2, 1978 "Listened to Roller records. I want them to bring out a new one. They're going to host the Midnight Special Friday. I can't wait. I wish they would have a concert here."

January 5, 1978 "Listened to the tape of the Rollers on Midnight Special that was on last August.

January 6, 1978 "The Rollers were on Midnight Special. At first they played 'Money Honey' and the way they acted scared us. (???) Then as the show progressed they got better. At first, Woody scared me and I cried. (I wonder what was up with that?) Then when they played 'Don't Let The Music Die' Woody pretended to be playing flute and was messing around. He was really cute. The sang five songs." I have a feeling they were scaring us because they were actually playing their instruments and singing. They had to be serious and pay attention to what they were doing. That had to be a new concept in seeing the Rollers on TV.

January 8, 1978 "After dinner, my Roller friend, Kim, called. We talked about the Rollers alot. She's so nice. She likes Les and we're always talking about Woody & Les. We talked for about an hour."

January 9, 1978 "I got my fan club newsletter. It was good. Some about Woody's mom and grandmother. Also they have moved. Les' parents have moved as well."

January 22, 1978 "Called Kim and talked to her for awhile. She gave me some names of some girls who like the Rollers that I can write to. I hope they write me. I wrote a letter to one named Sue who likes Eric." This is when I got my first five Roller pen pals. This included Brenda!!!

January 23, 1978 "I typed up some letters to mail off to ask about how I can get Alan's single 'I'm Confessing' for Sandy and me. I hope I can get ahold of someone about it. I typed four letters."

February 1, 1978 "Got a letter from the Music Staff in N. J. saying we can order Alan's single 'I'm Confessing.' Sandy and I are so excited. It costs $1.99 & $1.00 shipping. I also got some Roller programs from Roller House. I have one already so I'm going to give it to Sandy along with a magaizne Mom bought me and I already had with a picture of Eric in the bathtub."

February 14, 1978 "The Rollers were on Dinah. Woody looked scared and shy. Dinah made a comment about his earring and he asked her how she liked it. I think someone has been picking on him about it. (huh?) He had on some pants that gathered at the ankles. So did Derek. Les and Eric had on jeans."

February 18, 1978 "Cheryl called and asked me to give money to rent a skating rink for Woody's party. I said I'd give two dollars." Gee, generous aren't I? Heck, I don't remember being a contributing sponser of that party! lol

February 25, 1978 "Woody's 21st birthday. I can't believe it. We went to Woody's birthday at Roller Cave and skated. Took pictures. It was fun. Met Kim Grose. Sandy had gotten some pictures from Wendy and taken them and someone stole them. We called people all night. Called Cheryl, Kim, a girl name Robyn who had the party, and a girl named Sonja. They're helping us find them."

February 27, 1978 "Called Sandy & Kim Grose. We think Sandy Schmidt took Sandy's pictures. I hope she gets them back."

March 4, 1978 "Went to a party for Woody at an apartment clubhouse. It was arranged by Sonja and Lori. It was really good. But Sandy Schmidt was there. I hate her. Sandy, Sonja and I went over to Village Pantry to call Alan. Sonja's friend had given Sandy the number. She finally got through and talked to some lady in Scotland. We think it might have been his sister, Betty. There was a man in the background that sounded like Alan she said." Hey, no offence to Sandy Schmidt, wherever she may be. I truly haven't thought of her in years. I honestly don't remember her at all. Although I do recall the picture stealing incident now that I read about it.

March 6, 1978 "A girl named Chris wrote me. She lives in St. Ann, Missouri. Her favourite Roller is Derek. She seems nice."

March 7, 1978 "Sandy said the Rollers may never come back to Indiana because they lost so much money the last time. What will I do!" I wonder what was her source?

March 9, 1978 "Mr. Brown (my German teacher) wouldn't give me Bravo because of the pornography but gave me a picture of Sweet from it. (Damn! Come on, Herr Brown! Get over it!) Got Alan's record 'I'm Confessing' but it's defective and I have to send it back." Isn't that the luck?

March 29, 1978 "Got a letter from Chris & Derek. She told me about a show the Rollers are going to be on in May that I already knew about. It's called 'Rock n Roll Classic' and it's a sporting event rock stars compete in. I can't wait." Sounds like a new reality show!

April 4, 1978 "We called some roller skating places for an Alan party we're going to have. We're going to have it at Beech Grove Roller Dome. It only costs $1.00 per person and no money down. That's good!"

April 25, 1978  "Got a letter from Sandy and 'Chris & Derek'.  Wrote letters and sent for some address labels."

April 26, 1978  "Went to the store.  Got '16' and a couple other magazines."

April 27, 1978  "Got a letter from 'Ronda & Woody'.  ha ha Woody!!  Well, I love him and she can't have him!"  So there!  lol

April 30, 1978  "Got a letter from 'Bren & Les' in Michigan City.  Sent for some Roller stickers for Sandy's b-day."

May 1, 1978  "Got a letter from 'Chris & Derek'.  Talked to Sandy on the phone.  Put up a picture of Woody.  Thought about him alot today.  On the Rock n Roll Sports Classic, Sandy said Woody will swim, Eric will bowl, Les will lift weights, and Derek will be in track.  I can't wait to see Woody in wet trunks!  Wow.  Listened to It's a Game.  Called Peaches about the new album but they don't know anything about it.  Shoot."  I wonder what Sandy's source was?

May 3, 1978  "The Rollers weren't on the Rock n Roll Sports Classic.  I think I hate NBC.  They said they would be on it.  I've been waiting for this for weeks and they weren't even on it.  Wow, teen angst.

May 4, 1978  "Didn't get any mail."  OMG!!  No mail????

May 5, 1978  "Got a letter from Debbie Huffman, a Roller fan that likes Les.  With German class, I went to Cafe Heidelberg.  It was fun.  Got a button, mug and some Scottish jam.  Got the patch I sent for from the fan club and a newsletter.  I gave the newsletter to Sandy."

May 6, 1978  "Sue McEvers in Libertyville, Illinois, my pen pal, called me long distance.  We talked for five minutes.  She says Alan's rejoining the group too!  I'm glad!  Maria sent me a picture of Woody and one of Les."

May 8, 1978  "Got a letter from 'Chris & Derek' and from Sandy Peffley.  She likes Woody and is Sandy Day's pen friend, too."

May 13, 1978  "Sandy gave me some good pictures of Woody and Beth gave me a Xerox of a picture."

May 15, 1978  "Chris sent me a pic of herself.  It's neat!"

May 19, 1978  "Got a savings account to go to Scotland.  Put in $50.00.  I can't wait to go."  Twenty-nine years and just months to go. . .

May 24, 1978  "'16' says Alan has rejoined the Rollers."

June 5, 1978  "Got a letter from Nan.  She sent me a real pic of Woody that her friend had taken at a radio station in Cleveland, Ohio!  It's really great!  I love it!  Peggy gave me a Japanese symbol like Woody's and I took her a pic of Les.  They paved our street today."  That little tidbit is even more interesting to me.  They paved our street this year, 2007. also.  BTW, I currently live in the house I lived in during this phase of my life.

June 7, 1978  "Wrote a letter to BCR Official magazine and a letter to Alan to wish him Happy B-day."

June 11, 1978  "Called WNDE to request Money Honey.  They are Ace, They are cool, They wear tartan and they rule!  With an R-O-L-L-E-R-S Bay City Rollers are the best."

June 13, 1978  "Called places about Rosetta Stone's album so we can raffel (sp) it off."

June 15, 1978  "Got a letter frm Sue and four magazines from Valerie in England.  They're great."

June 16, 1978  "Sandy is still sick so we are going to have the party next Saturday instead of tomorrow."  Wow, now that's flexibility!

June 17, 1978  "Sandy let me keep the Rosetta Stone album."

June 19, 1978  "Got some bomb pops from the ice cream man."  I'm your ice cream man, baby, stop me when I'm passin' by, oh my my! -- Sorry, Van Halen reference!!

June 20, 1978  HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALAN! "Today was Alan's birthday.  He's 29."

June 21, 1978 "Chris wrote. Wrote her back. Rearranged the Roller pictures on my walls. Wrote a new girl, Julie, who likes Derek. Also wrote the Kentucky State Fair to see if the Rollers will be there this summer. I may be able to go with Sandy if they are coming. We're going to see Heart here 'cause they're coming August 22."

June 22, 1978 "Took guitar lesson. Learned 'Money Honey'"

June 25, 1978 "Sent for 'Five Faces of Love Kit' from 16 Magazine." I wonder what in the heck that was? "I sure hope I get some mail tomorrow. I love writing letters and I wish I had more pen pals. I have seven U.S. and an Irish & an English pen pal."

June 28, 1978 "Played guitar. I want to be a rhythm guitarist for the Rollers but not put Woody out of a job. They could have two rhythm guitarists. I wish!"

June 29, 1978 "Got prints back from Nan's negs. They're great!" Remember doing that? Borrowing peoples negatives of shows, etc.? "We might get to see the Rollers twice this year if Sandy's dad will take us to Ohio and Kentucky and if the Rollers come there. I hope Mom lets me go. I want to see them sooo much! I love Woody alot!" Gee whiz, that's alot of "if's"!!!

July 2, 1978 "Called Sue McEvers, my pen pal in Libertyville, Illinois. That was real fun."

July 5, 1978 "We're kind of starting to like Rosetta Stone. I guess I like Colin best, but I'll love Woody 4-ever and ever. He's sooo cute and I need him so much. I wish he could know me." Boy, I know that took alot to admit, liking R.S. It was like being a traitor to the Rollers!

July 7, 1978 "Went to a phone booth and called the Kentucky State Fair and they said they don't know if the Rollers will be there."

July 9, 1978 "Got a letter and post card from Maria, a letter from Chris and Brenda and got my July newsletter."

July 12, 1978 "Sandy Peffley is going to spend the night Saturday with us. She's staying with Sandy Day, Friday. Sandy Peffley lives in Lafayette, Indiana, and she likes Woody, too. She makes me jealous."

July 13, 1978 "Didn't get any mail. I wish I would. Called Sandy. Sandy Peffley isn't going to spend the night at my house. Just Sandy's, Saturday. We're going to Glendale (Mall) then, too. Sandy Peffley called Sandy Day. Went to guitar lesson & McDonald's. Went to Osco and picked up and left some films."

July 15, 1978 "Got to meet Sandy Peffley. I think she's great. Sandy D. picked me up and we all went to Glendale and then we went to her house and looked at pictures and all of Sandy P.'s stuff. Had fun. Chris wrote and I wrote her back and wrote Sandy P. back. Sent her two dollars for her to get me a colour glossy of the Rollers. She also gave me a Roller button and a little bunny statue thing."

July 23, 1978 "Called Chris 'n Derek in Missouri! It was great. She's really nice. She's Cheryl's pen pal. So's her friend."

July 27, 1978 "Got Tiger Beat and a letter from Denny 'n Dell and one from Sandy Peffley. There's a pic in TB of Woody standing on a pool table playing golf! I think it's real cute."

July 28, 1978 "Got a letter from a girl in West Germany named Mari and she likes Eric. Got Sandy's labels with Alan's picture on them. I can't wait until I get mine."

July 29, 1978 "I wrote some letters. Chris didn't write. I wonder why. In TB there's a pic of Woody and Eric spraying Alan in the face with whipped cream. I think it's sooo funny. Woody's so cute and sexy! I love him so much. I want him bad. He's so far away."

July 31, 1978 "Got a letter from Les Hutton, Chris, Pam, Maria and a post card from her. Wrote alot of letters. I want Woody. I have to have him. I'll get him. I have to."
