WELCOME TO OUR BEDROOMS!
Take a peek inside some of the greatest bedrooms of the '70s! This is where our creativity, and our love for the Rollers showed on a daily basis. These were our sanctuaries, where we could be free to love our favorite guys without the prying eyes of our parents, siblings or peers that just didn't understand our obsession with the Tartan Wonders!
Above are pictures taken of my bedroom after I moved to our house on Marrison Place. We moved into this house in 1977. The two different pictures of the door show a little progress in fitting in smaller pictures into the gaps. Mom had me pick the color of the walls and the carpet. As you can tell, I picked bright yellow for the walls (Woody's favorite color) and a plaid indoor/outdoor carpet. Believe it or not, that room is now my son's room, and he still has that same carpeting! (Good stuff!) Mom wasn't real thrilled with having pictures put up on the new paint, so it took me awhile to butter her up.
Oh, Lord, ain't I cute?! ha ha! This is after Mom buckled under and let me put more pictures up on my walls.
Here's another cute one, this time of my friend, Sandy. This is her bedroom at her parents' house on Hillside.
These are also of Sandy's room. The girl in the glasses is our friend, Robin.
This is a picture on Sandy Day's wall, but this is Sandy Peffley, showing it off. (Remember the rugby shirts? I had a blue and red one.)
One more of Sandy's room. Note guitars and amps. The Rollers were our early musical influences.
These pictures are from Nikki's bedroom. I think this room is spectacular! Can anyone beat this? If so, I'd love to see your pictures! (Yes, this is a challenge!)
This is Chris Caproni's room. I know I have this photo on another page, but I just had to include it in the bedroom pictures!
These two shots are of Lisa Richey's room. She's the one holding the picture of Derek from Once Upon A Star. Sandy Day is in the lower picture. As you can see, Lisa didn't restrict herself to just the Rollers. I can see Michael Jackson and Donny Osmond, among others. Actually, the first concert I ever went to was Donny and Marie, and I went with Lisa.
This is Beth's room. She's the girl on the right. Cheryl is the one in the foreground. (Yes, they're dancing.)
This picture belongs to Brenda. Not sure who's room it is. The girl's are Mari, Debbie and Kendra (the really goofy one. . . Brenda's sister.)
Okay, I know. I had to put this picture on, though. I remember taking this picture well. Joanna wouldn't pose unless I let her hold that album, "All The Fun Of The Fair" by David Essex. And it qualifies as a bedroom shot. That's her bedroom. We were sleeping on mattresses on the floor, because it was a sleepover.
