Biblical context:
Joseph finds the woman betrothed to become his wife is pregnant, and not by him. Before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost.

Posted the second Sunday of Advent.

Having given consideration to a quiet divorce of his betrothed and pregnant "virgin" wife, Joseph gets a big clue when the angel appears with a message as to the nature and purpose of her pregnancy.  To his credit he obeys and marries Mary, and awaits the birth of the one who will take away the sins of the world.

The angels repeat to Mary, the prophecy of Isaiah:

Isa 7:14 (NKJV)
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virginshall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Personal significance:
So important is the concept expressed by this verse, that it is included, even though it is not a "pretty-looking" BH.  Of course, if pretty was the standard, none of us would be going to Heaven, now would we?  He is with us, still.
