Map links below are numbered by days from SOUTH to NORTH, beginning at Wind Cave National Park and progressing toward Bear Butte. They link to pages for a 10-day backpacking trip of the entire length of the Centennial Trail.

"Virtual Elevation" indicates the accumulated climb between trailheads. For instance, if
there are four hills to climb between trailheads, the amount of elevation change in each direction is totaled so that the amount of climbing can be treated as if there were only one hill between the same trailheads. The elevation of this simplified hill is provided as the "virtual elevation" between trailheads.
