THIS IS A PRIVATELY RUN SITE, INDEPENDENT OF BLACKTOWN COUNCIL, TO ASSIST OWNERS IN FINDING THEIR DOGS AND HELPING DOGS FIND NEW OWNERS.

BLACKTOWN POUND.
Animals are impounded from several council areas. These are:
BLACKTOWN
HOLROYD
RYDE
AUBURN
PARRAMATTA
LANE COVE
HUNTERS HILL
CANADA BAY
BURWOOD
All animals found to have identification (ie: microchip, collar and tag with a number etc) will be held for the required 14 day period, animals not identified in any way will be held for 7 days. At the end of this holding period, some suitable animals are then desexed, vaccinated, and microchipped and held until they are adopted.
There is a Tender system in place for other animals and the desexing programme is also available and recommended for these dogs.
THIS IS TO BE DISCUSSED WITH THE POUND STAFF.
All animals being adopted must be lifetime registered with their local council.
The fees for this are:
$100 for undesexed animals.
$35 for desexed animals.
$15 for Pensioners (desexed animals).

The pound is open between
7-15am and 3-15pm Monday - Friday and 9am-11am Sat.
The following pages will be updated on a regular basis. The dogs shown in the following pages have been either surrendered by their owners or found as strays wandering the streets. The history of these dogs is rarely known, however the staff have a good rapport with the animals and will be able to discuss concerns you may have.
The pound does not allow the sale of known aggressive dogs, visibly sick animals, pregnant bitches or pups under 6 months old. Pregnant bitches and pups are taken into foster care until ready for adoption (where possible).
PLEASE NOTE:
Not all impounded dogs in Blacktown Pound are on this site. If you have lost your dog, make sure you visit the pound and have a look for yourself. Your description of your dog may differ from others.
