THE MUMMY'S GHOST-1944 Nameless! Fleshless! Deathless! Lon Chaney, Jr. again gets 'wrapped-up' in the role of Kharis, the living mummy in this sequel to The Mummy's Tomb. Not the best of the series but an alright chiller and a good way to kill 61 minutes on a rainy night.
In Egypt the High Preist of Arkan relates a 3000-year-old tale of true love between Kharis and Princess Ananka to the new member of the cult, Yousef Bay. He tells him he must take a journey to America to recover the bodies of the mummy and the princess.
Yousef Bay brings Kharis back to life with the help of the tanna leaves [how many?]. They head to the Scipps Museum where the casket of Princess Ananka is on display. Yousef discovers that the Princess Ananka has been reincarnated as beautiful Amina Mansori. He instructs Kharis to kidnap the hapless damsel so the mummy and his true love can be reunited and return to Egypt. But here is where a problem occurs, Yousef falls hard for the reincarnated babe and decides to drink a potion to make himself immortal so he can spend eternity with the princess.
Kharis doesn't take this very well and goes a little berserk and kills the cringing priest grabs the beauty and runs into a bog being chased by a fiery mob [there's that mob again]. As Kharis and his lady love sink in the swamp her beauty is faded and her 3000-year-old face appears.
