My name is Karen and I am currently based in Colchester, Essex. My parental home is in Truro, Cornwall and, as you may have guessed, I am a huge Avengers fan.
I first got into the Avengers when Channel Four began a run of late night repeats in the mid-nineties. They were showing the Emma Peel black and white series and after accidently recording one episode I was hooked. I love it when things like that happen.
My favourite episode is The House that Jack Built. It encompasses everything which is good about the Avengers, a fantastically written script, brilliantly directed, and fabulously well acted.
The story revolves around Emma who receives a bequest from a long-lost Uncle, a large country house. On her visit she becomes trapped and lost in a maze which constantly returns her to the same room. It shows the very best qualities of Mrs Peel; her intelligance, her stamina, her strength, her determination as well as allowing the viewer to learn a great deal more about her past.
My favourite "Avenger" is Emma Peel. She is everything that I would love to be; gorgeous, clever, witty, strong (both physically and emotional) and wise.
As I have already mentioned I have just moved up to London and i've already found Steed's house so I hope to be able to add a few Avengerland pictures to the sight or at least let you know if they are still there. I am apologise for the lack of maintenance but I have been travelling for 2 years and am now studying again before being a real grown up so do bear with me!
