About The Author and Artist
June Colbert Bowman-Sims is a native of Chicago, Illinois; a City whose impressions, influences and character are to no small extent reflected in her African-American Creations posted on this site. After the death of her husband, all available spare time was devoted toward Literary expression - specifically her poetry. The poem "The Cranes", was published previously in the year 1975...representing the completion of the Author's first literary effort.
In addition to being a widow, a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother, Mrs. Bowman-Sims is also a Licensed Cosmetologist and a Licensed Practical Nurse. These professional accomplishments are supplemented with an Associate Degree in Accounting from Kennedy King College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Roosevelt University. These were followed-up with additional graduate work there; - to round those scholastic endeavors at that point in time.

A Ballad Of Poetry Shadows Under The Grave
Meet King Leviitha Chief of The Niklo Tribe. His image was created by June Colbert Bowman-Sims. He is the main character in the first story in the book Shadows Under The Grave - A Trilogy. This book earned Bowman-Sims the title of the Undisputed Queen of African-American Fiction.
Horn of Knowledge The Goodsense Playground
I thrive on participation in Fine, Literary, and Media Arts. I am a people person who have the ability to create fiction that boarders on the fringes of realism. A worldly professional, who leaves no stone unturned when searching for supernatural occurrences that satisfy my thirst for suspense and intrigue that is readily transferred to my reading public. Everyone has their own ghosts, but, do they know who or where they are?
