Each year Troop 5 visits Yawgoog Scout Reservation. Yawgoog is located in Rockville, Rhode Island. At Yawgoog, Scouts can work on merit badges, earn awards, and have fun. Troop 5 visits Week 1 every year. Each week there is a different theme. When we stayed in 2003, the theme was Patriot Week. Themes in the past were Winter Wonderland, Star Wars, Politics, Safari, Super Heroes, and Animal Planet. There are three subcamps- Three-Point, Medicine Bow, and Sandy Beach. Each year, Troop 5 stays at campsite Wuttah in Medicine Bow.
2003
First Time Scouts of the Week: Sean H and Chris C.
The theme was Patriot Week. This year Troop 5 earned Elmos's troop of the week and our senior patrol leader, Mike C., received the J. Harold Williams Award. The troop earned a total of ## merit badges, ## completed the mile swim, and 2 scouts advanced in rank. A good time was had by all!
2002
First Time Scouts of the Week: Evan B., Eric N., and Alex S.
This year's trip to Yawgoog was very successful. The theme of the week was Animal Planet. Troop 5 earned a total of 40 merit badges. We also were awarded Elmo's Troop of the Week. In the troop competition, Bobby S. brought us into the finals. A good time was had by all!
