The Karntrack was created for several reasons: - Good fun and laughs.
- For beginners to realize that everyone swims.
- For all of us to learn from our mistakes and the mistakes of others.
- To realize that swimming is sometimes the best move you can make.
- To realize that swimming is sometimes the worst move you can make.
- To push you try harder and be a better and safer boater. All inexperienced or out of practice boaters are more likely to swim, and expected to swim. The Karntrack is NOT to humiliate people in this situation, but it can be helpful to people in this situation by demonstrating improvement when swims start to become less frequent. Although we do enjoy watching the seemingly invincible paddler swim in the easiest of rapids, it’s a reminder to everyone that we are all between swims. Realize this group was formed so that you would have friends there to help you when your swim happens.
The RULES of the Karntrack - It’s all or nothing. No one will care if you don’t participate in Karntrack, but once you choose to post a swim, you must post every swim from that point on for life.
- It’s ok to quit posting your swims, but don’t come crawling back.
- It’s always ok for someone to post someone else’s swim without their permission as long as they witnessed it. They may have a better idea of what happened anyway.
- Don’t sand bag and skirt rapids for some stupid swimless streak.
- Always swim when it is the safest move, don’t risk it for some stupid swimless streak
- Laugh together and have fun.
