So, What's your story?
This is the place where members can place their stories of how they or their loved one became brain injured.
To help you get started:
The Who: Who are you (the Member) and/or (if you are the brain injured person, please say what kind of brain injury you have) or who is your brain injured loved one? (What kind of brain injury do they have?)
What: What happened that caused you or your loevd one to become brain injured? (What were the brain injured person's injuries at the time of the accident and what are their injuries now?)
When: When did you or your loved one become brain injured?
(Members, please post Anniversary Dates on the Member's Anniversary Date Page)
Where: Where did the brain injury occur (What City and State)
How: How did the injury happen?
(This information could be helpful to prevent other people from becoming injured or injured further, so be as specific as you are comfortable with)
Finally, the Why: On the why part of it, most of us have no idea why this happened, some of us ask that question of God every day.
What we would like members to do here is just to briefly describe the why, as you perceive it today.
i.e. (in example)
To teach you more about yourself, what your made of,
To give you the opportunity to know how to understand what another is going through better because you've experienced it yourself.
To give you a better understanding of how to be of real service in giving back.
Since my brain injury, I have been able to do things that I did not know I would ever be able to do . . . and list them. . .
Though I have deficits, I have compensated with skills or abilities that I was completely unaware I possessed until after the accident, (stroke, etc.) then list what they are with a description.
You may want to just jot down a quick outline for yourself before you post so that you can keep the information more organized and decide how and what you want to post.
If you have a home page with your story post your story page link here!
Happy Writing and Reading to you, we working on ours right now!
