Welcome to

The Brain Injury Support Group and

Chat Room!

Please register for now with an application at the "Join Now" feature above, upper left, so that we may reserve your place at our table.

We are excited to meet you, come in, relax, and join our friendly family of Survivors and Winners!

This web site is a support mechanism provided with a chat for people who have experienced any kind of "head injury". Some of the diagnoses would include names like: "Post- concussive Syndrome", "Traumatic Brain Injury" (TBI), "Concussion", and/or "Loss of consciousness", (LOC), associated with open or closed head injury", with or without "coma", "aneurysm" (Stroke) or any other kind of injury or degenerative disease such as "Alzheimers" (Alz), or other arterial embolism in the brain.

This volunteer site is for the Caregivers, Family, friends, co-workers, Doctors, Nurses, and Rehabilitation Therapists, and all practitioners' of brain-injured people. All brain injury involved people are welcome to come, share, support, enjoy, learn, share the love, grow, and contribute your talents and non-expert opinions here. All expert opinions are reserved for office hours at office fees and each Survivor's experience has commonalities with varying degrees of severity. The experts are the ones who have been there on that side of a brain injury and survived it. The courageous individuals who live with it every day. The technically intelligent experts are the one's we pay the fees to who define what the deficits, determine the severity, and treat the symptoms with the most reasonably bearable means of therapy to enable all of us a way to live with our lives as they are.

We ask our Members to be mindful of the sensitivity of newly injured individuals, and the delicate emotional condition that may be present in response to certain comments as received from the typewritten word with no other communicative signals such as voice intonation, eye contact, or body language. This can at times result in accidental misunderstandings when in the chat room at times so please, be patient enough to explain if necessary, what it is your are trying to say. For example, from experience, it has been recognized that in some cases where a person has been injured in the frontal lobe(s) of the brain, the perception may be more literal and/ or emotional than individuals with injury in other areas of the brain because the emotional controlling area of the brain is right at the frontal lobes. Because injury is to that part of the brain, an individual may respond or perceive more literally, which could appear to be irrational, (aggressive, angry or emotional) to some situations or statements than others may. Others as well as the fore mentioned, can have varying executive cognitive impairment such as typing very slowly, needing to think about what is said for a minute before responding, not being able to type very quickly, things like that. Again, please do your best be patient, we all need patience from time to time. Always be courteous even if your feel differently.

To be fair to all, the general rule here is personal medical information that is shared here, please have the respect for yourself, others, and the maturity to allow such confidential information to remain here. What is said in our chat room between members and on our general board, even if received in your email in box from this site would be information that is to be regarded in the same respect please. (i.e., confidential) Thank you.

We request that everyone be respectful and considerate of each other’s feelings and deficits please and to follow proper internet etiquette. This is a place to have fun, relax, enjoy, meet new friends, learn, live, grow and most of all be of service and support for each other.

That which brings harmony is best here, we like this serene and peaceful environment, and we intend to keep it this way. It makes this environment much, much more enjoyable than others. Any disagreements or controversies may be addressed to management at BrainInjurySupport@msn.com Disruption of the serenity of this site will not be acceptable and will be swiftly dealt with without notice. Much as we don't like to we have to say that.
