Hi Andy sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Right, I got in touch with Spread and he e-mailed me with a document outlining his thoughts and feelings on why No Contact is so important. I've put the document in the Documents folder of the group for now as I haven't had time yet to make a static page but I will probably convert it to a Gold Post or similar. hope this helps, sorry for the delay Willow

Hi Willow, First let me say how invaluable this site has been for me and the emotional help of so many others. This site could be used in a study of the emotional effects of breaking up and could cover a wide variety of break up situations. A common thread I have noticed that appears to be common amongst those here is the concept and benefits of No Contact. We all go through that phase of understanding intellectually that No Contact is best but emotionally we get caught up and it makes the decisions harder. SpreadBlamo has been posting some excellent advice on how to deal with the various scenarios and its almost down to a science. Since we keep repeating similar pieces of advice, I would like to suggest we work on a No Contact briefing. The brief would describe in detail, what to expect from your ex and from yourself, how to handle specific situations (like giving back his/her stuff, birthdays, family crisis, children, etc) and what benefits you can expect from NC. Spread would be a great person to start this if she doesn't mind. We could circulate it around to a few of us that have successfully been through No Contact situtions (Rage for instance) and go from there. It would give everyone a resource to go to when questoins arise. What do you think? Cheers, Andy

Hi Judith sorry about the confusion. When browsing the entries in the My Story section you need to click on the image of the magnifying glass to the left of the members name (see image below), not the members name itself. I've decided to make a page explaining all this in the My Story area as this isn't the first time a member has been confused about it so it's not just you :-) Hope this helps. Willowsong

Help! I went into My Story and started writing my story of what happened. Now I can't find it to finish. All that is on there is my profile. I looked at others, and it's just their profile. Did I misunderstand what My Story is about? I spent an hour writing out my story and now I can't find it. Is it gone? I'm confused! Thanks for any help you can give me.

Yes, the site has evolved beyond what I ever thought I'd be able to handle, which isn't much actually  I like to think that although we're a lot bigger and things move so fast that we still become that warm, supportive and restorative corner of the WWW for breakupees worldwide . Finding myself alone on what would have been my third wedding anniversary, I can't tell you just how much all of your comments lifted me and made me realize - I'm not so alone after all!! Hi Willow...I was wondering about a way to start a buddy list...like a way to know when your friends or the people you enjoy most are online. I'm not sure that's possible, but it'd be a great feature...cuz for some reason, no one is ever in chat and we have to play tag through posts! Even so, (forgive me, I'm thinking aloud) I'm not sure having that lost will help because how would we be able to contact them..not like this is a instant messaging site...anyway, food for thought! Hi Mee thanks for your question. The problem you are having is something I had trouble with too. About a year ago MSN gave users of their groups the option to be known by the same nickname across all of the groups they belong to. One of the problems with this is that now members who have separate names for each membership can't alter their profile for each specific group, I know, I tried to and that's the reason I went for a new nick across all my groups. A pain isn't it :-( Willow

Hi BrokenBride thanks for your question. I'm not sure how much exact text is allowed for an entry on the My Story section but I do have a suggestion that should make it easier. Write out your story in MS WordPad or similar (not MS Word as it will be littered with annoying formatting commands after posting) Then save it. Then copy and paste as much as it will allow you to post into the creating window in the My Story area. Then add another page copying and pasting the rest in. It might be helpful to other readers if you number each chapter at the top of each so they get read in the right order? A bit fiddly but the simplest solution i think. Any good? Willow

Hey Willow, I think it would be a nice idea to put up a birthday calender on the BUS. A lot of Xesseem to forget about us on our birthday, and we might feel a bit better if we get sum attention over here on the BUS.
