Have Some Fun!

Distraction is a very good form of medicine.  We DON'T have to sit about feeling horrible ALL the time.  If I broke my leg I wouldn't have to dwell on it constantly in order for the bone to heal.  The same principal can be applied to emotional pain aswell.  It takes time whether we obsess about it or not, and enjoying ourselves will in no way hamper recovery.

Therefore make time to do 'fun stuff'. On this page I have highlighted some of my favourite Internet and real time activities that helped me relax and take my mind off the immediate battle within.

  • Here at Break Up Survival we have some game threads - Check out the Word Association Game, or Movie Dominos, or maybe the Story Line thread
  • The Uproar website offers some superb online versions of popular TV game shows such as Catchphrase and Family Fortunes, exquisitely like the real thing.  It's all too easy to find yourself, in bath robe and slippers at 2 in the morning, frantically trying to think of as many famous Bill's as possible.  Or is that just me
  • Oliverbot.com - talk with Oliver, our chat robot. It is like talking with a real person. Or, visit TalkingOnline.com to talk with yourself online.
  • Crazyfads.com - Read about fads from the past: hula hoops, pet rocks, goldfish swallowing, flagpole sitting, mood rings, Smurfs and more.
  • Something that I found very helpful was building this community.  If there's a subject you feel you'd like to discuss with other members, or if your interested in making a personal community about your life then I can highly recommend the MSN communities area.  It's totally free and easy to use. If I can build this community then YOU can certainly build a better one
  • I love anagrams.  This website offers a free online applet where you enter your name or any phrase and it immediately generates all the possible anagrams.  It's quite alarming how fitting some of the suggestions can be!
  • WhichisWorse.com - Vote on which choice is worse in various situations.
  • CrazyThoughts.com - A funny list of life's unanswered questions.
Guess The TV Show or Movie - Think of a tv show or movie name, and the computer will try to guess which one. Also try Guess the Dictator and/or Television Sit-Com Character.
  • VideoParodies.com - Funny music video parodies of Britney Spears, Eminem, Metallica, Backstreet Boys and more.
