The Brits In France group is all about living and working in France and having your say.  Like many other group, it needs basic rules which protect its members' rights to take part without being subjected to behaviour or posts which they may find offensive.

Members are expected to adopt a common sense approach to questions and opinions raised by other members, please be tolerant of other people and their views. If you disagree with someone's point of view you are free to say so, but please do not resort to offensive language or personal attacks in your contribution to the thread.  Please also understand that this is a “G” rated group and as such the posts and threads can be and are read by young people and children.   Explicit posts of a sexual nature will not be tolerated, neither will posts offering or soliciting any sexual activity.

While the term 'offensive language' and posts with a sexual bias are not always easy to define, the manager(s) of this group reserve the right to use their discretion to ensure it remains a comfortable environment for all of its members.    Please do not post anything that most parents and reasonable people would consider offensive for even the youngest of children to see.

Members should note Brits In France does not carry any content warning. This means youngsters could and may access threads posted on the board, so adult attachments and links to sites of an adult or sexual nature should not be posted as they may well be deleted and the Member banned from the Group.

Some Posting Guidelines and Helpful Hints:

• Try wherever and whenever possible to post directly from the Brits In France Group
Site rather via e-mail as this avoids long posts that are repeated a number of times
through the post, this is a vagary of MSN.  If you write your post first in MSWord and
then copy and paste to the discussion please make the first copy and paste from MS
Word into Note Pad (part of Windows Accessories) and then copy and paste that into
the thread.   This saves the rather unsightly ><, pops and other horrors of MS Word
being left all over your well thought out post.
• Please do not poke fun at grammar and spelling – English or French may not be a
member's first language, or they may be suffering from Senior Moments and/or typos.
• Please scan the message boards to see if the subject you wish to raise is already
  being discussed.
• The principle language of the Group should be English, if you post in French please
offer a reasonable translation to assist the other members whose French may not be
as good as yours.  French Terms and expressions are fine but do try to give their
English equivalence, as this all helps with understanding and living in France.

The manager(s) of this group reserve the right to take action against those who breach its simple rules and Members agree to abide by MSN’s Code of Conduct as you join this group.

The Manager and his assistant(s) are available online for discussion should a query arise. Please E-Mail them before you get into a slanging match. Not everybody has the same point of view, and while differences are tolerated, those who disregard our simple rules will be banned.

Advertising of a 'personal' nature should be screened before posting. See above.

We try to make this site as "user-friendly" as we can and, as such, welcome any comments or suggestions.

Thank you.
