UK Tour

If you're new to travelling around the UK, it can be a nightmare trying to find a cheap place to stay etc, especially if you've no idea what you're looking for!

Even if you are used to travelling, this info might still be useful!

If you're planning a BA concert, you're obviously going to need tickets, and the cheapest place for them is www.wayahead.com. They post them out to you ASAP (unlike Ticketmaster) and are very reasonable, DO NOT USE www.getmetickets.net (they promise front row but have scammed a lot of people). Some tickets are available through the arena websites, I usually post any info next to the Tourdates if available.

Travel:

www.nationalexpress.com the most reliable coach service in the UK. I have used them every time I have been to a BA gig. They are always on time and are worth every penny (they usually have good offers on seats as well). Great to use if you've got a budget! If you're in a hurry, there are a few direct coaches to places like London, Manchester and Birmingham.

www.jet2.com again these are for budgets really. It's the same with www.easyjet.com. They get you where you need to go, but are known for delays, and common problems. They are very cheap though, a Manchester-London return flight is roughly £45 and cuts about 4 hours off your journey!

www.expedia.com if you're willing to pay a bit extra to travel, or you're travelling to another country this is probably the best site to use.

www.nationalrail.com you can check all the times for trains around the UK here, and can also book your tickets. Trains can be pricey but the site does offer a special return ticket which isn't too bad. Manchester-London return is roughly £100. You could also try www.qjump.co.uk

If you're thinking of driving around the country, you can plan a visit at www.maporama.com. You can get a detailed map with full directions, also includes little bits like estimated time, and what the weather's like!

Where to stay:

www.octopustravel.com another site I find very useful. It finds you the cheapest hotels to stay in, in a selected area of your choice. Another cheap site, that is very helpful.

www.travelinn.co.uk If you are looking for comfort then this is the hotel to stay at. The rooms are very nice, staff are very friendly and all rooms are reasonably cheap.

www.superbreak.com if you want cheap then site will give you cheap. The hotels and flights this site brings up are amazing. Definitely what you need if you want to go to as many concerts as possible. Almost as cheap as hostels, but in quality hotels. I don't know how they do it, but it's great!
