About the FWBO
The Friends of the Western Buddhist Order was founded in London by the Venerable Sangharakshita in 1967 and now has many centres in many different parts of the world. This movement is devoted to re-expressing the essential truths of the Buddhist tradition in ways appropriate to the modern world. Our centres run activities introducing people to meditation and basic Buddhist ideas.
